Got a few more maps up in my store now: Replica 1697 Dutch chart of the then known world at the end of the 17th century marking major ports, countries, capes, estuaries, banks and islands. Replica 1693 English chart showing Land's End and the south western tip of Cornwall Replica 1693 English chart of the Bristol Channel showing depth soundings and anchor points Replica 1693 English Map of Plymouth Harbour in southern England showing depth soundings and anchor points All are on period correct linen and cotton rag paper and 18" x 24" in size $37 If you would like to save a little bit of money and arent to concerned about authenticity then I am now also doing all my charts and maps on modern parchment vellum paper which looks the part to the untrained eye. (all the examples in this post are printed on this paper) The maps printed on this paper are $24 (message me if you want the modern paper ones as they are only available on the pirate forums at the moment and not in my shop)

Are they still going as their website seems to have been down for a good many months now?

Just put this up for sale in my Etsy shop too.

I think a lot of the buckle pins were made of iron anyway and thats why the buckles recovered from wreck sites have none as they have rusted off. So steel should be fine as far as i am concerned. Most replica buckles I have encountered have steel pins anyway.

I wonder what the fabric pouch looked like? Thats definately a good option if ever i needed to hide my dreadlocks at an event.

I saw a guy at the market i went to last saturday who did bellarmine jugs that size but with the faces on. It's all hand made stuff so i bet he could knock them up without the decoration. I have a flyer somewhere I grabbed so as soon as I can find it I will post the information -
Just finished a scabbard for it too.
-
Ha ha well my first foray into scabbard making didnt turn out to bad so hopefully by the time i do a couple more i will be a seasoned professional

Wasn't the QAR a French ship originally? I thought I had read that it was originally called "Le Concorde de Nantes" and was built in Nantes in France? If you go to the Transatlantic slave trade database, Voyage 30090, Concorde (1717) shows the information on the ship although admittedly it doesnt have the place of construction filled in. http://www.slavevoyages.org/tast/database/search.faces

Wooden barber surgeon's case, large rectangular box with a hinged lid, contains twenty shaving accessories, French, 1715-1830. Full view, open case with some contents arranged outside. You'd think they could narrow it down a bit on when it was made. Over a hundred years in that time period. Bit rubbish for a museum not to be able to get it more accurate.

BTW, I havn't forgotten the lizard. I will be engraving it on the blade today. Sweet she'll love that
