  1. Did anyone get any good shots of the Jack Sparrow that came through camp on saturday? A fellow on another forum was wanting to know if someone had one they would be willing to e-mail to him.

    Thanks...

    Bo

    Bo,

I have his contact info if you still want it. I hired him 2 weeks ago to come to this year's Pirate Fest. He's an insurance salesman from Redbud.

  2. I will be there, but I'm a Dog Soldier so I'm camped by the Governor, Mutley. I'm up by the sign on the Main Road.

Look for the sign that says Apothecary and stop by for a visit. Or a sip.........

..........for medicinal purposes only, mind ya!!!!!!

  3. I keep getting alerts to messages that I have already read or responded to. Is this happening to anyone else?

Does anyone know how I can correct the problem?

I'm actually NOT getting any e-mail alerts when there are messages. I looked at my settings and it says I should be, but they're not happening.....

I don't either and I, too, am supposed to. I got them for a couple months, but that stopped months ago.

  4. Well I am working every weekend in Sept. But, I have night shifts on a few weekends so I can hopefully bring my powder monkeys out for a daytrip.....

There's 4 tickets at the Ticket Booth with your name on them. Hope to see you.

  5. Hello Thomas

Well I was speaking with Silas at the Whydah Exhib. about comin and setting up a tent if thats still ok with you and the cast...was wonderin when Silas, Rusty, Bos'n Carl and AJ was going to be there ? also was the Mercury flag showing up ? Was thinking next weekend just stayin Saturday.

    Fair Winds

Rusty, Carl & Aj will be out Friday. Not sure about Silas. Meetin him tomorrow to show him where to set-up so should know more after that.

  6. The St Louis Pirate Festival was asked to bring reenactors on two weekends of the exhibit here in St Louis. We had 20+ both weekends and the patrons loved it. It was great when the kids would turn the corner and suddenly see us. They would just freeze and stare. The best was when 2 of our "ladies" sang in the pub. Several of our friends from the Mercury Crew were able to help us out.

If you ever get a chance to work it take the opportunity. It's great!!!!

  7. Here is an interesting answer I found on Wikipedia -

"The custom that a man's coat should button "left side over right", anecdotally originates in the use of the sword, where such cut avoided catching the top of the weapon in the opening of the cloth (since the sword was usually drawn right-handed). Women's suits are buttoned "right side over left". A similar anecdotal story to explain this is that women were dressed by maids, and so the buttons were arranged for the convenience of their, typically, right-handed servants; men on the other hand dressed themselves and so the buttons were positioned to simplify that task."

Seems to make some logical sense.

  8. I hope to pull away from classes/studies for at least one weekend if the crew will allow me to hang-out as the independent smuggler/highwayman I be.

    Bo

I am hoping to at least drag the daughters out for a weekend jaunt, will probably be in flatlander clothes though....

If you need tickets, let me know. I'm the President of Renaissance St Louis that produces the St Louis Pirate Fest.

  9. speaking of wich, the crew of the mercury ( currently sans flag ) will be represented at the blessing of the fleet in portage de sioux this saturday... adding some piratitude and a battle with the "gypsy rose" which is the featured boat...

And don't forget the St Louis Pirate Fest the last 3 weekends of September. We'd love to have ya land there for a bit.

Contact Silas or I if yer interested.
