I had been looking for the most GAOP accurate off the shelf shoe and found these at: http://www.re-enactmentshop.com/p_18th_century.htm I have more info and a review and more pics in Capn' Twill.

  6. How about freaking awesome!!! Outfits like that or similar, fall into my absolute favourite as far as appearances go for pirate re-enacting! Thanks Michael! You can see your box and belt a little better in this one. :-)
  7. One of me "non-captain" kits. Comments? Chides? Lauds?
  8. Uh, why yes! I am the guy who asked you to bring a Fish tail and or the French Calvery weapons. I may also get a pistola as well. I am in fact waiting til the festival to buy. (Been saving my pieces of eight)
  9. I dislike when someone tells me that I look like a Pilgrim.....
  10. This long coat is from Shrine of Hollywood. It's a first quality coat that I bought last fall for a little over $300. It would make someone a fabulous fantasy pirate coat or perhaps a great Steam Punk or Airship Pirate coat? The size is Large, it's made of heavy cotton with a full rayon lining. There are two inside pockets and two functional outside pockets. There is a lot of detail in this coat. Like I said, I bought it just this past fall and have worn it probably two-three times. Please PM me if interested. $200 + $10 shipping. Paypal is great.
  11. I would avoid it. Seriously. IMO they are not wearable unless you work on an oil rig - then everything on you stinks of oil products. When i am ready I'll have a pair made for me. THe leather worker at the Spanish Museum in St. Augustine Florida showed me a pair he made that were well, simple and very cool. I think I'll eventually have a pair made for me. The leatherworker unfortunately did not make them for sale.
  12. I know I'm coming to this party late, and have just the tiniest bit of GAOP clothing info in my brain at this point, but I'm wondering what the Boecanier on the left in this 1700 illustration is wearing over his breeches. Slops? Petticoat breeches? I'm also thinking about how different my Kass constructed slops look on my friend who is 5' 6" as compared to how they look on my 6' 3" frame.....
  13. Wow - great eye. Yes it is. I like it a lot.
