  1. In the interest of finding and meeting with fellow crew members around the globe, I offer this Muster thread. I will maintain it as a simple list of names and towns of those crewmates who have numbered themselves among us. Former members of the crew may also list themselves if they wish and I'll keep that list here as well. Just to start things off, I use the name William Brand at events, though the nickname Red Wake is attached to my Pub name. I live nowhere near the ocean in a high mountain valley in the city of Logan, Utah and I serve regularly as the Quartermaster of the Mercury

Names shall be listed alphabetically by persona surname.

  2. How forgiving are the measurements? I have to make a good set of stays before I can get my measurements with stays on, I have been looking for assistance with this as I have no craft with cloth at all, it could take a while. How long does it take to make, so I have an idea of a time frame to shoot for. I am going to order one, just have to have the particulars down.

  3. As always Silkie & The Sealkie's Hide will be neutral (unless the other side has more coin wink.gif ) However I am a member of the Crewe of the Archangel and would like to be listed with them.

I'd like to help with that in a more active way for next year, if you want to contact me and give me a few clues as to how to make my contribution a tad more effective (I was a bit lost this year, but am excited to try and do better next ).

  4. I forgot possibly one of the most important thanks, and I had made a mental note to add it ... thanks to Callendish for the hot showers, next to coffee, the most critical requirement for keeping some of us human.

  5. Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for a wonderful week.

First, Brig, for telling me every year how much fun she has had and making me want to play pirate. William of the Mercury Crew for inviting me to cast my lot in with them. Fayma, I have coordinated a large event or two in the past and herding pirates has got to be way harder than herding cats, it would not have happened without you. Sansanee and Vintage Sailor for letting me feel useful by cutting their vegetables. Israel Cross for showing me how to put the buckles on my shoes. Shay of the Keys for letting me tag along with her during the week. Elizabeth and Mooseworthy for making me laugh ( in a good way ) on Saturday ( Israel and William get some credit there, as well ). Sealkie for letting me help out a little setting up the Hide.

A big thanks also to the many others whose names I have not yet learned, for kindnesses great and small, this newbie had a wonderful time and I hope I get to do it again.

  6. As crazy as it sounds, we're seriously considering the long drive to PIP. We're talking two full days of driving with one good night's sleep in between. Why would we even consider it? One, no luggage restrictions. Two, cheaper to drive a family than to fly them. Three, it's just too crazy not to be considered. Life is short.

One of the considered courses would take us through Laramie, Lincoln, Kansas City, St. Louis, Chattanooga, Atlanta and Gainesville. Is there anyone along that route willing to feed and shelter a few crazy, tired PIP runners?

Who else is driving this year? Sound off! We need to figure out our combined miles for PIP.

I'm painting PIP or bust on the car.

Driving from Jacksonville, FL. Haven't decided the when as yet, hopefully on the 28th.

  7. Do I need to include a 2 x 6 plot for me to pass out or be buried in? Never know when it comes to me and PiP. laugh.gif

No, we'll haul you out to sea.

Or at least throw you in from the beach and try and nudge you out a bit with sticks or something.

Not sure to whom I need to give this information, but I have a Red hawk 7'x8'x7' wedge tent plus the appropriate margin for staking.

The only downfall is that you may be completely spoiled by attending this event first. :(

Sounds like a downfall that could be easily lived with.

  9. I am interested in attending but am completely green, trying to put together acceptable PC gear but would like to hook up with a forgiving crew.

  10. But damnation when are ye going to dance fer us?!

Anytime you command, dear Captain. Just so long as it's sometime when I can stay awake for more than a few hours at a time and Brig has baby-free arms. Neither of those happens too terribly often.

There's a standing offer been made to give Brig those baby-free arms  if she stops subtling threatening life and limb, that is.
