  2. Happy Belated Birthday Black Hearted Pearl! Love the name by the way. Lots of June birthdays in here, mine was yesterday. I celebrated all weekend with me mates. I raise my tankard to you, a fellow Gemini. May ye have many more birthdays filled with sea, sail and sun.

  3. Here's what you do. While on your 30th voyage on POTC, jump overboard right in the middle of the pillaging and join in the singing and looting. Can't tell you how many times I have resisted the urge to just jump ship and join in the fun. If the Disney police come after you, just pose as one of those wenches at the Wench auction. They'll never notice.;);)

  4. The ever oblivious Captain Scarlett looks at the Royaliste shrugs her shoulders and joins in with the welcome back party. "Glad you decided to stay mate, 'ave no idea what happened cause it was none of my business to begin with. I'm just 'ere to have a good time, learn a few things and drink till I can't drink no more." :P

  5. Me all time favorite pirate song is All for me Grog. Whether it be sung by the Jolly Rogers or by my friends 'round the fire at an SCA event. I love a good song about spending all yer loot on drink and women and having to go back out to sea for more loot!

  7. I would choose either to have a mermaid with heaving bosoms or bawdy looking lass with heaving bosoms. What's with the heaving bosoms? Well, the name of me ship is the Lusty Lady and I liken the name to either a mermaid or a siren. And, me crew is mostly female which makes it all the more frightening.

  8. Ahoy Mates! Looks like there are more pirates getting an education these days. As I was swaggerin' toward the library here on campus at ASU, I noticed there was words scribbled on the stairs in multi-colored chalk. Words and phrases like "Talk like a Pirate Day" We are pirates. right?, Dread Pirate Roberts wuz here, Blimey, Arrrrrr, Remember Captain Hook? and What would Blackbeard do? I was quite happy to see that I wasn't only one celebratin' today as I strode about wearin' my Pirates of the Carribbean shirt (from the ride). Happy Talk like a Pirate day! Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  9. Ah yes, Margarita, she's a fine lass... ---sinks into storytelling mode--- Why, I remember when me mates and I were pillaging our way through Maracaibo and stopped by the Laughing Baboon tavern for a night of drunkeness and revelry. And there she was! Margarita Esperanza Isabella Villa Lobos, the surliest barmaid in all of the Spanish Main. She was about as cuddly as a badger but she could fix drinks that would grow hair on yer chest and set fire to yer belly! Many a fine night was spent with her... ----Me First Mate Rosa Maria taps me on the shoulder and gently informs her misguided Captain that the post is indeed about the drink and not the infamous barmaid---- OH! Well then, I'll have one without salt please.

  10. But, i will share ye toast to all the lovley ladies, lasses , and wenches out there. For I believe that the existence of the ladies is sure fire proof that there is indeed a God. (of course they're also proof that theres a hell) The Capt......

Here, Here Capt. Flint! I raise me rum filled tankard to that quote, to you, and to all those lovely lasses who roam the seas and give us the pleasure of their company. No matter how many times they break me little heart, I can't help but love them even more.

  11. This may be a little off the topic but I will be in Key West two weeks from now ( I know, I wish I could go to the festival) and I was wondering if there are any exciting places I should check out that aren't mentioned in those travel guides. Any piratical hot spots I should know about? This will be my first time in the Keys (Virgin!) and I only know bits and pieces about the area. Any help would be great! Thanks

  12. The fact that there were a bunch of people around, and that I generally try to be a mostly law-abiding citizen in my usual life were the only things keeping me from boarding and stealing a nice 20-something foot boat today.  Alas.  Oh well.

I have the same urge everytime I encounter a tall ship ( not often enough). Unfortunately, I can never get my friends to go along with my plans of "borrowing" the ship for a quick trip to the Carribean. Heck, I even get the urge to jump ship during the raid scene on the Pirates of the Carribean ride! I'm sure you all are with me on this.

  13. I be mostly landlubber too. I'm envious of anyone who lives near the ocean or has access to some sort of sailing vessel. Oh sure, Arizona has an ocean...of dirt! Plenty of that around here. The only vessels I've been on are charter fishing boats and my favorite memory, my grandfather's boat in Florida. Lots of good memories of crabbing on my grandfather's boat.

  14. Ahoy everyone,

Thank you for the birthday wishes. It made my day! I would like to give some belated birthday wishes to all my fellow gemini pirate bretheren out there,Capt. Luigi, Capt. Westyn and anyone else celebratin' this month. I hope your birthdays were filled with rum and debauchery like mine was.

    Keep on sailin',

  15. Hmmm.... mebee we could have a barrel-built-for-two fer the lass, bein' th' 'undreth pyrate on this board.... ?

Hehehe...Dorian I like ye idea the best! Can it be filled with the finest rum in all of the Carribbean?

    Fair winds and calm seas,

  16. Capt. Luigi and Capt. Flint,

You sure do know how to make a pirate feel welcomed. I feel the love all the way here in the desert seas. I'm havin' a hard time decidin' if I want the floggin' or standin' behind the cannon when it's bein' fired. Gee, that moonlight plank walk for two sounds soooo romantic.

    Fair winds and calm seas,

    Capt. Scarlett "Mouse" Hawkins

  17. Sounds like a fine crew you have, Capt. Scarlett! B) As you're in the SCA (as I am also), are you on the SCA-Nautical list?

    Capt. William

Patron, Loyal Guild of St. Erasmus, Kingdom of Meridies

Catain, the Seadogge Shiphold (1580's merchant vessel)

I was on the SCA nautical list for a little while until everyone and their mother insisted that I join a million other lists. But, I would like to join the list again because there are quite a few folks on there who hold a wealth of knowledge on all things nautical. Would be worth it to expand my mind.

    Fair winds and calm seas,

    Capt. Scarlett "Mouse" Hawkins

  18. Ahoy to all my fellow seafarin' adventurers,

Please allow me to intruduce meself, I am Captain Scarlett Hawkins. I'm another one of those SCA folk and reside in the dusty, desert lands of Arizona. How can one have a pirate crew in the desert? Imagination and a lot of heart. I just recently gathered up a fine crew mostly made up of beautiful lasses and one unlucky Quartermaster who has to look out for them. He has such a rough job. Our interests include, belly dancing, rapier fighting, heavy fighting, archery, calligraphy & illumination, pillaging, plundering, drinking rum and chasing the maidens (well, that's my job and the quartermaster's). In the SCA, I captain a 16th century vessel but my interests are not confined to just one time period. For it was the Golden Age of Piracy that first captured my heart and imagination. I hope to meet many more of my fellow bretheren of the sweet trade.

  19. Welcome Caaptain Scarlett. I think as the 100th member don't you receive a complementry cabin boy.

What? No complimetary Cabin Boy? I'll have to tell the rest of me crew the bad news then. Poor sods, long time at sea and no action for any of us...er them.

    Fair winds and calm seas,

    Capt. Scarlett "Mouse" Hawkins

    Captain of the Lusty Lady
