Mission

Recommended Posts

I need your help! I'm taking a Statistics Class and we have to do a project that involves collecting statistical data. I need to get 30 unique responses and I thought this would be an interesting place to do it.

Because a lot of the members here tend to stick to certain forums, I'm posting this in several of them (Beyond Pyracy, Captain Twill, Pirate Crews - Pyrates of Europe and Pirate Popto get the needed number of responses. Please only respond once and please answer them all if you decide to respond. (I'll post the results on my website with a link to them here.) Thanks for your help! ~Mission

a - Probably 50 in different eras. Went to about ten.

b - I don't portray any pirate-related characters. I portray a woman from the 1690s.

c - historic

d - neither. I'm a textile historian studying the clothing of the Golden Age of Piracy. I reenact to have a place to wear my reconstructions and to teach people about the clothing (and lives) of our ancestors. I don't really have anything I want to escape from.

1.) 1 Pirate 1 Wild West, 1 Civil War

2.) 6+ Characters. From Ships doctor, Cut-throat/outlaw, Common sailor, bountyman, commoner/landsman, to militiaman.

3.) Making every attempt to be historically based and PC. But tending to be more PFC.

4.) We do this to teach and entertain. But also for the personal escape, the roar of the crowd and above all for the espredecorp of the crew!

As far as characters go, depending on the event, it's not uncommon for a reenactor to have multiple roles and have to quickly change from one to another. An example is when we do Wild West in Cedar Rapids.

With several different performances, I had gone from gambler, to lawman, to angry townsman, to the infamous cowboy Nate Champion, then to the leader of a vigilance committee.
