For more images of the Great Lakes River Pirates raid on Historic Fort Wayne, including some very nice photos of the 5 boats we had at the event, please see the corresponding blog entry on Slightly Obsessed Friday last, the forces of the Great Lakes River Pirates, under the guidance of Lt.'s Garland & Lith, gathered at the confluence of the St. Joseph, St. Marys, and Maumee Rivers for a planned raid on Fort Wayne, situated there. The good Lt. Lith, having taken much to drink and gambling at Black's Coffeehouse on Saturday night, attempted to alter the outcome of a dice game, instead found himself engaged in a duel the following morning. There will be lots of buccaneers and rovers at the Old Fort MacArthur Days this year. Both the Rogue Privateers and the Port Royal Privateers will be there setting up camp. Cap'n Michael, myself, and our furry crew will be setting up with the Rogue Privateers (in fact, Cap'n Michael is the Captain for the event). We'll be encamped next to the Winged Hussars, so shouldn't be hard to find. The Rogue Privateers will have plenty of artillery present. So lots of excitement. For the youngun's we'll have a spar set up for them to explore, and feel what it was like to climb out on the yard, on the footropes, and reef the sail. We'll also have period games for young and old…

So we're almost home and I couldn't wait to post about this event. So here I am, feet up on the dashboard, still in kitn toes poking through the holes in my stockings, posting on my pink Blackberry. Yeah, that's right. Mickey and I arrived in Havre De Grace at 4:30 Friday afternoon, a stark contrast to our usual 2 am show times. Also, we didn't get lost once or have to call anyone for directions! Black John showed up not long after and we stood around and talked a while before starting to set up camp under a lovely shade tree. Shortly, the Half Moon Maurauders showed up and pitched camp too. Lady Brower and I had been yapping on the phone and pm-ing back and forth for …

What a great event! Lots of friendly familiar faces and a few new ones to boot! Nothing could have dampened the spirits of this event – even though a deluge on Friday may have hindered setting up camp, yet…we all continued to pray for better weather and come Sunday we had sun and warmer temps! Both Pirate and Pirate Hunter showed the crowds our best this past weekend. The crowds were good and even the one of the Event Coordinator for Downtown Hampton stopped by to give praises to our Pirate Hunter’s camp! A big thank you to Blackbeard’s crew, the Bone Island Buccaneers for coming so far to ‘play’ to Gentleman Scotty and his lovely wife Kate who stopped by the pirat…

My wife and I will be attending this event. We've been planning for months. This will be the first event we are attending in PC gear. I'm wondering if it is possible for us to hang out in the PC camp for a bit and see what it is like. We both have interest in attending other events already. Who would I need to contact or ask politely (please) to test the waters for a few hours? Thanks in advance for any info.

Ahoy mates, seems the Chesapeake Bay Foundations Clean The Bay Day is Saturday June 6! Were all going to be arse end over tea kettle busy Saturday, but I'm heading up a drive to clean the Hampton waterfront area bright and early Sunday morning. I'm looking for all sorts of volunteers to help out. If anyone has a couple of crab nets we could use to pull stuff out of the deep we could certainly use e'm. As well bring your rubber gloves. Hope to see you out there. Dutch

hey folks, the question came up about wifi access. the chamber of commerce has open wifi around the waterfront. It is hit or miss in some spots but is available mostly around the space center, hotel, and somewhere along the dock.
