Port Washington Pirate Festival is due to return June 2-4, 2017! http://portwashingtonpiratefestival.com I figured that since the pub was still serving I'd drop in a plug. Small festival but at least it's free!

It appears the Port Washington Pirate Festival may be returning from the grave under new management! Color me surprised since once a festival stops it rarely returns. Here is the website: http://www.portwashingtonpiratefestival.com/home.html

As of today's date....I received word of that 2013 Port Washington Pirate Fest has been CANCELLED! "Dear Friends of the Pirate Festival please make plans to invade another port June 7, 8 & 9th, 2013. More information to follow including auctioning off Pirate Festival treasures. We are so sorry to pass along the bad news. Hopefully in the future we can find a port where we and our money are welcome. Please keep posted." Sorry to see this happen.

Hello all (again ) It's that time of year again, when you are getting sick of all the posts and advertisements on events all the event organizers are trying to coerce you to go out to.... I'll keep it simple, the festival is open to all, has a wide variety of fun pirate activities, and some great shows and entertainment.... And the part that is nearest and dearest to my heart, the historical section where the reenactors are. The web site to the overall festival can be found at this link http://pyratefest.co/ Anyone wishing to participate as a more historical reenactor should contact me. While this event does draw some great historical portrayals, I have always trie…

https://www.facebook.com/events/396509460511929/ It is March, 1716. Fresh from salvage operations on the treasure fleet that sank the previous summer, the crew of the pirate sloop, the Scavenger, sail to a secluded section of Florida coast. There, they will celebrate their newfound wealth, and careen their vessel in preparation for the next hunt. Along the way, they are joined by a host of other pirate vessels similarly enriched by the Spanish silver brought up from the depths. Together, they set sail for a deserted island, just off of a lonely stretch of Florida coast, far from the prying eyes of the governments of the world. The idea is to portray a pirate camp from…

Hi all, Most folks here already know about this one, but I thought I would post again this year in case there might be anyone new who wants to join us. Almost all the brief info from last year's post https://pyracy.com/index.php/topic/19141-put-in-bay-ohio-re-enactor-camp-2013-june-28-july-1/ still applies. The quick run-down. The festival is a pirate festival... I organize the more historical corner of the festival. We are lax in standards to allow for beginners. re-enactor participants have available camping area. modern camp gear is acceptable. We or pretty much only obligated to demo.display in the main park from about 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday. There are …

I'm a little late posting about this one this year... So I cheated and cut and pasted most of the below from last year (minus some edits for new or revised info) I will be the main cat-herder for this one again this year for the re-enactment encampment, and will be meeting with the festival organizer later this week or middle of next week (pending his schedule) to go over things with him. Anyone have ideas/suggestions/concerns they think I should bring up with the event organizer? (Within reason). Suggestions or ideas welcome even from well wishers that are unable to attend, but the ideas from those coming will obviously get more attention. Please contact me by the end …

So although I am mostly focused on organizing the May Santa Maria event right now.. it is likely a good time to start up discussions around this event. I will be the main cat-herder for this one again this year for the re-enactment encampment, and will be meeting with the festival organizer later this week or middle of next week (pending his schedule) to go over things with him. Anyone have ideas/suggestions/concerns they think I should bring up with the event organizer? (Within reason). Suggestions or ideas welcome even from well wishers that are unable to attend, but the ideas from those coming will obviously get more attention. Over the past few years they have cover…

Hey folks! I sort of dug up the 2011 Norcal thread at first, but I figured since my questions were related to the 2012 Northern California Pirate Festival, and there doesn't seem to be a dedicated thread for that event just yet, I should probably start one. Ant any rate, does anyone know anything about Norcal for 2012? I'm pretty much looking for any info on it I can find, but I'm specifically interested in where to look for information about vending. Looks like the website hasn't been updated for quite a while, and I'm not finding much other info around the web. Do they have a vendor application form at all? Or is it something we just have to contact the vendor coor…

Just got an email from the organizer, planning has commenced. More news to come... But unrelated to the organization of the re-enactment encampment there, the organizer has asked me to put it out there that more vendors are wanted to expand the pirate market... Artists, crafters, historically influenced sutlers, and more pop-culture pirate themed vendors all wanted. Contact me and I will put you in touch with the organizer for the vendors. Re-enactors, I will be the point man on this one again... M.A. d'Dogge, you have been requested by name for some ungodly reason... something to do with being the currently reigning champion. Date is currently UNCONFIRMED but likely t…

Ahoy folks, Just an update of whats going on. We've been on a roller coaster of planning on our side and I hope all understand and forgive us. From last nights meeting I can say the following. Its going to be different than anything we have done before! I know lots of folks are making plans to attend and I've been working with Pern making sure everyone is going to have something to do and let me tell ya, with 100 yes 100 reenactors/ living historians pirates, pirate hunters, sutlers, and not including the boat crews, its a bugger! BUT WE DID IT! Whats on the plate you might ask? The capture of William Howard, which has not been done in three years. The ball Friday ni…
