On behalf of all Searle's Bucaneers we wish to say thank you for making this event the best one yet. I hope that everyone that made the trip had a safe and memorable time. We had people from as far away as Texas and Ohio. We had people from 9 different states come to this years event. For those that missed the fun, now is the time to make plans for next years event. This year we had 92 men, women and children at the Fountain of Youth and the battle downtown, that is up from the 81 we had last year. The rain stayed away (a light drizzle was all we got) and the weather was perfect for camping! Thanks again to everyone for making Searle's 2011 a rousing success! …

First, I do love the name of this event, given its history. Be that as it may, I see they're hitting the high seas in 2011. Looks like its international waters for piracy on the high seas next year. 12 miles out, who knows what will happen! -- Hurricane

After a month and a half of alternating my nights between studying Spanish and working on this monster (that was going to be 6 pages long...then 7...then 8...) it is done! Thanks so much to the lovely Brig for looking editing it for me after I could look at it no more. If anyone know the names of people that I don't, please feel free to let me know so I can correct that. There were so many of them... Searle's Raid 2010 Surgeon's Journal Feel free to share it with others who aren't around here much.

I had considered going to this, but real life got in the way... However, I have followed the event (mostly through Facebook) and now that the results are in I am happy. There were no less than three GAoP groups that placed. See list of winners here There were three major categories for contests, with each category divided into three general time-frame sub-categories. But the GAoP was very well represented! The Sea Rats Atlantic, won third place in the "Best Uniform/Clothing Impression" category! The Archangel Crew won first place in the best camp cooking category. And the "York Privateers" won third place in the "Best Encampment (material culture and Interpretation)…

March 20th, 2010 | Swallows Day Parade San Juan Capistrano, CALIFORNIA Not a pirate event, but No Quarter Given (accompanied by the NQG PyRats) will be marching in the parade with the Buccaneers of Tortuga, the Alliance of the Double Cross, and other brethren of the sea to welcome the return of the swallows to San Juan Capistrano. Pirates did raid San Juan Capistrano in 1818, so there is a piratical connection. Parade starts at 11 am, but come much earlier to get good parking. Street closures are at 10 am. Day-long street festival with food and entertainment in the Mercado. Contact information for interested pirates wanting to march coming soon.

On behalf of all Searle's Bucaneers we wish to say thankyou for making this event the best one yet. I hope that everyone that made the trip had a safe and memorable time. At one point on Saturday afternoon I counted 15 people that were both at last years PIP and this years Searle's. We had people from as far away as California and Northern Pennsylvania. We had people from 10 different states come to this years event. For those that missed the fun, now is the time to make plans for next years event. This year we had 81 men, women and children at the Fountain of Youth and the battle downtown. The food was great, the gunfire loud and the friendships made and renewed wer…

Sunday - A bizarre day. I am writing this now because I have a moment and...well, I just feel like writing it. You'll have to wait for the webpage to see everything that preceded it. I actually woke up early - unlike yesterday when I didn't want to wake up at all - and got ready before Shay arrived. I saw the little green BMW Z3 coming up the road from the hotel window, but that couldn't prepare me for Shay, who appeared at the window shorty thereafter in nothing more (than I could see) than her white shirt and blue socks! I threatened to take a picture, but, alas, for you, dear reader, I didn't. So use your imagination. (Someone - I think it was Patrick Hand - said th…
