Ahoy friends, First, thank you all for your continued support of our project. While we are three years into construction we are indeed making progress- admittedly slower than we would like. Once floating we hope to host as many pubsters as may wish to visit upon Luna's deck! We are very happy to report that we have outgrown our old website, blog, and membership data base! The website address remains the same, but our blog has changed. Without further ado, I present our new online home! www.colonialseaport.org http://www.colonialseaport.org/blog/?p=156 We are still working the kinks out, so please let us know what we can change to make it easier to navigate.

Ahoy all! After a long time of hunting, searching, and telling our story we now have our long needed chemical locker! This 20 foot container is damned near perfect! no rust, fresh paint, power already installed and shelf brackets running down one side already. We will be adding a rack to hold rolls of fiberglass and make a cutting table to prep the material. Adding an old metal fridge with no motor will hold and isolate the catalysts. When we are done building, we will use it for seasonal downrigging storage. Thank you B. A. E. industries for your donation! WE ARE UNDER WAY!!!!!!!!!

From its inception, the Colonial Seaport Foundation has been a work in progress, a grand experiment in recreating colonial America’s rich maritime history through the construction of Luna our floating historical and environmental classroom. In preparation for Luna’s launch we continue to develop engaging educational programming. Every step along the way, we gain insights into what works and what falls short. We continuously improved our techniques, creating new programs to engage visitors and preserve America’s colonial maritime heritage. Getting it right enables us to have a beneficial and potentially lasting impact upon our visitors. On board Luna construction is co…

Well it seem that the fair city of Port Jefferson, NY has decided to take the plunge and attempt a Pirate Festival with the HMS Bounty. It is in conjunction with the shooting of a reality TV show being filmed in and around Long Island. The premise is how can so many "horrible" things go wrong for this little Ad Agency. The pirates will come off the Bounty into town and wreak Havoc and Mayhem. If you're interested in being part of this, please contact me Lucretia Lacey My e-mail is lucretia_lacey777@yahoo.com and visit the website for the event www.herestous.tv They are looking for Pirates to come storming off the ship with guns and cannon blazing, so if you're looking…

hey mates, the Blackbeard Festival is two weeks away. Its going to be hot and busy. I have the responsibilities of the long boat Explorer for the weekend and coordinating living history on Sunday. If anyone is interested in crewing on the Explorer over the weekend or putting together a living history program on Sunday please let me know. Also, not publicized, but went over well last year was the Sunday morning dock walk. Hopefully we will be doing it again this year. We will set an agreeable morning hour and walk the rocks and piers pulling trash out of the water from the weekend. Last year we pulled five bags the DAY AFTER the clean the bay day! ahoy folks, CSF produces a quarterly news letter and is in need of articles. The articles need not be long- 1/2 page typed is normal. We are looking for colonial maritime historical interests, sorry no fiction. We don't have resources to pay for articles, but a heart felt thank you and seeing your article in print would be something. I'll talk with the board and see about offering a membership for a year if we print your article. for an example of what we publish please visit http://www.colonialseaport.org/HORIZON-Spring10b.pdf thanks for looking. -dutch

http://www.dailypress.com/features/dp-gl_p...0,7289589.story The first time John Glass decked himself out in pirate gear, he thought his stint as a living history interpreter would only last a weekend. All the Hampton man wanted was the chance to add a little authentic character to his seafaring town's first Blackbeard Pirate Festival — which he was helping stage alongside the parade of tall ships that came for OpSail 2000. Then his flirtation with the past would be over. Nearly 10 years later, however, the retired Army officer and environmental engineer has not only failed to hang his cutlass up but also spends much of his spare time perfecting his depiction of an ea…

ahoy folks, I'm excited to announce that CSF will be involved in the living history portion of the Whydah exhibit at Nauticus in Norfolk beginning the end of November !!! We will be sharing the venue with Ben Cherry aka Blackbeard, The Press Gang, Moody Crewe, and Jack Sparrow ( i don't remember his name, but I've worked with him before and am excited to be seeing him again). Our own Blackbeards Crew and Cindy Warner will be adding to the talent flying the CSF banner as well as a few familiar faces and names to the pub. I have already heard from a couple of folks who are interested but if anyone is in the area and is interested in turning to, please let me know. dutch

Below is a link to an event we were at last weekend. while we did not get much face time, the explorer did! The video footage has the explorer, a seven log buyboat that is being rebuilt and a clip on old engines. I'm so proud of our little stompin grounds, maybe someday we can have a festival there. http://www.ssentinel.com/index.php/communi...ases_officials/
