Oscoda Citizens for Clean Water, the non-profit supporting the community action group Need Our Water (NOW) is hosting a two-day "Pirates and Mermaids" Festival August 1st & 2nd, 2025.

Our festival is not just about fun and entertainment; it's about raising awareness and acting against Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the Great Lakes. We are thrilled to announce that we will be making an official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as MerPeople at Oscoda Beach Park (Friday August 1st). This record-breaking event will draw attention to the critical issue of PFAS contamination and help us take a significant step toward a cleaner and healthier environment.
