Event details

Celebrate Connecticut’s rich maritime history and our connection to the sea!

This fun-filled weekend has Military and Private Ships, Flock Theatre’s Burning of Benedict Arnold, Little Mermaids and Sea Monsters Parade, Coast Guard Helicopter Search and Rescue Demonstration, Sea Service Showdown – a Maritime Skills Challenge, Fishing Clinic, Kids Nautical Zone, Rum Tasting, Live Music, Local Vendors, Food Trucks, and more!

This year’s Festival is held at Fort Trumbull State Park and the Waterfront Park in beautiful New London, Connecticut. The Festival is providing FREE water taxi and shuttle buses between venues so you can park once each day and enjoy both venues! We have loads of fun all weekend, so plan to attend both days for a great destination weekend!

Festival Tips

  • Children who arrive Saturday morning can get their face painted and make a costume for free to JOIN in the Little Mermaids and Sea Monsters Parade at 1pm! This year it’s being held right in Fort Trumbull State Park!
  • Bring your picnic blankets or beach chairs to enjoy great live music, delicious food, and stunning waterfront views on the grass of Fort Trumbull. Fort Trumbull is a BYOB space, so no alcohol will be sold at the Festival but you are welcome to bring your own.
  • Head to downtown New London for dinner at the Basque Festival on the plaza across from the train station or visit one of the great New London restaurants between 5 – 7:30pm Saturday and then join the historical Burning of Benedict Arnold March of the Traitor along Bank Street! Wear period garb to fully immerse yourself in this historic event dating to 1782!
  • Park in a downtown garage or on the street near Fort Trumbull or the Waterfront Park and use the Festival’s free water taxi and shuttle bus to go between venues. The parking lot at Fort Trumbull is reserved for those with a Handicapped parking permit.
