Held in conjunction with the Ashville Viking Festival, this event spans all history. All eras are accepted. From the legions of ancient Rome to the colorful mercenaries of the Holy Roman Empire and beyond, history awaits. Our reenactors look forward to explaining life throughout the ages. Visit our Grove of Heroes and learn how weapons developed and what maneuvers carry forward to today’s soldiers. Discover what foods were eaten, how medicine and clothes developed, and what people did for fun. The encampment is adjacent to the Saxon Market which features shopping, food, and entertainment. Held every year starting the last Saturday of April. A donation to help the local food pantry is appreciated. Contact vikingfestival@gmail.com for more information and to register your group.
