POSTPONED - Date to be announced

It’s time to go back to school. Way back to “The School of the Sixteenth Century”. Once again the Historic Florida Militia has partnered with the Saint Augustine Historical Society to present this years “School” on the grounds of the Oldest House Museum Complex. (Located at 14 St. Francis Street. Old Town Trolley has a stop directly outside the museum.)

See what life was like in the very beginning of our city. Our historic encampment begins on Friday February 16th. “Classes” will be held at this beautiful and serene property on Friday and Saturday Feb 16-17. Witness demonstrations of historic weapons, including the crossbow, the matchlock musket, pikes, and edged weapons. See the clothing, crafts, culinary techniques, and the military and religious practices of that time. New this year are courses on the women of the Menendez expedition and primitive fabric dyeing. Admission to the 16th century encampment will be free and open to the public  from 10am to 4pm.
