Pennsic War - Slippery Rock, PA

Pennsic is an annual event, in the guise of a “War”, between the Kingdoms of the East and the Middle of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Pennsic is also the largest Society event, with attendance in recent years exceeding 10,000. The scheduled activities include large melee battles, tournaments, archery, stage performances, dancing, and hundreds of classes on medieval topics. The marketplace has over 200 merchants selling a variety of wares.

Welcome to Pennsic - let us all celebrate the diversity within our society, the gathering of people at Pennsic is a pinnacle of diversity and unity as we all come together to celebrate the many facets of the dream that is the SCA.

It is our pleasure in joining the Royalty of the Known World to help make that dream come true for you. For the success of the Society for Creative Anachronism rests on the
strong foundation built from the diverse vision we all bring. We hope that you enjoy all that Pennsic has to offer: combat, classes, shopping & especially new friendships forged over these two weeks. If you find that you have some spare time, volunteer! We want to thank the Pennsic staff for their hard work. Their dedication to Pennsic shows through countless hours of their time they have generously donated to make these two weeks possible. But there is much that needs to be done and they can always use more volunteers.

In this annual clash of rivals, We would ask that honor and courtesy guide your actions on & off the field. Greet your noble opponents and extoll their deeds so that you can celebrate with camaraderie by the fire that night. New heroes are born at the Pennsic War, new stories come to life and new individuals find the magic that is the dream of the SCA. This is your War - be it your first or your fifty-first, make the most of it and share your stories!
