As part of the 2024 St. Augustine History Festival, Drake’s Raid commemorates the attack of the land and naval forces of Sir Francis Drake against Spanish San Agustín in 1586. The encampment takes place at the Oldest House Museum Complex beginning Friday. Drills, demonstrations, and 16th century living history interpretations will be presented from 10 am-5 pm on Saturday.
A battle between Spanish town’s brave defenders and the English privateers and brigands of Sir Francis Drake will be reenacted beginning at 7 p.m. The battle will commence at the Santo Domingo Redoubt near the City Gate and proceed down St. George Street, concluding at the Governor’s House Cultural Center and Museum at the Plaza de la Constitución.

Come experience a day in the life of a pirate... you can almost feel the salt in the air as we bring you swashbuckling swordplay, meandering minstrals, and wenches walking.. along with mermaids, games of skill, and live pirate-style entertainment.

The Bath Fest Committee is hard at work planning a 2024 family friendly event blending living history and art. Through living history step back in time to experience the time pirates called Bath home as once again pirates walk the streets of historic Bath.
Arts and craft vendors will sell their original works along the streets of Historic Bath at Bonner’s Point and a student art show featuring the works of Bath Elementary School students will be on display. Beaufort County 4-H returns to Bath Fest with a chicken and rabbit show.
