YOUR pirate soundtrack

Recommended Posts

Ahhh.... more and more fun here.

If you had a chance to have a collection of songs or a soundtrack for your or about your pirate persona... what songs would you have on that soundtrack or collection?

I'd have more than one disc obviously. One or two that is lyrical songs and one of two that is Instrumental.

The lyrical songs:

It's My Life by Bon Jovi

Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi

Dare by Stan Bush

In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins

Alcohol by Brad Paisley

Sympathy For The Devil by Guns N Roses

Surrender by KD Lang

Instruments of Destruction by NRG

Die Another Day by Madonna

Could I Have This Kiss Forever by Enrique Iglesias & Whitney Houston

Come Into My World by Kylie Monogue

Experience of Love by Eric Serra

All Jacked Up by Gretchen Wilson

Don't Let Go by Bryan Adams & Sarah Mclachlan

Engel by Rammstein

Gortoz A Ran-J'Attends by Danez Prigent & Lisa Gerrard

Take My Breath Away by Berlin

Into The West by Annie Lennox

When We Dance by Sting

Whiskey In The Jar by Metallica

Be With You by Enrique Iglesias

The Instrumental songs are longer... so I will spare ya the gruesome details. <_<

I think my list would be too long, so I'll just say I would start my soundtrack with Dirty Deeds by AC/DC, and I would end my soundtrack with Highway to Hell by AC/DC (Ya, I like AC/DC)

May the winds of fortune sail you

May you sail a gentle sea

May it always be the other guy who says "this drinks on me"

Alright, currently, the songs that get me into my "piratey self" mode are as follows. Most are traditional songs but the specific artist/version does matter to me.

Childgrove (from Playford's) - Broadside Band

Health to the Company - Brobdingnagian Bards

Bully in the Alley - Bounding Main

Peg and Awl - Danu

Drink up Men - The Dubliner's

Johnny Jump Up - Gaelic Storm

The Otters Nest - Joanie Madden

A Bruxa/Unknown - Tannahill Weavers

Whiskey Your the Devil - The Clancy Brothers

Row Bully's Row - Ewan McColl

Hanging Johnny - Bob Roberts

Now if you're talking me on an average, not so piratey day. Just pick a punk song, there are just too many to pick favorites.

ARGH...this is gonna be a tough one. Hope the "eclectisism" doesn't make anyone's head hurt...

I'm No Angel- Gregg Allman

South Side of the Sky - Yes

Heart of the Sunrise - Yes

Princes of the Universe - Queen

Creep - Radiohead

Big Fella - Black 47

I Got Laid on James Joyce's Grave - Black 47

Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks

Lawyers, Guns, and Money - Warren Zevon

I should add to this that if I could have "entrance music" it would be the Mozart Fantasia in F Minor...and I want to use the J.S. Bach Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue as underscoring for a swordfight.
