Ransom Posted December 29, 2006 Share Posted December 29, 2006 I know a lot of the caligraphy people use Walnut ink. It has a nice brown color that looks period, but I haven't tried it yet. I can get it at the local art store, so might have to settle for that if I can't find anything else. I live on the Rogue River, and always thought it would be kinda cool to have a group called Pirates on the Rogue, or just Rogue Pirates - but then I guess all pirates are rogues of a sort. ...schooners, islands, and maroons and buccaneers and buried gold... Patrick Hand Posted December 29, 2006 Share Posted December 29, 2006 I'm using a fountain pen, not a quill to write with, so I can't use caligraphy inks... ( they contain stuff that isn't good for a fountain pen.) A quill pen would be more authentic, but that would limit where I could write... open bottle of ink and all.... You're lucky they don't make you spit in a bucket before you board these days. I feel for all those poor folks I see doing "the strip" on the security line each day. However, what can you do in todays world? It's necessary. Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.... Her reputation was her livelihood. I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice!
