"To long life....so's watch yer back!"

The gentleman and the pirate share a drink at the bar. Jacky slides a purse to Captain Sterling. With his back to the room and in hushed tones, he addresses Captain Sterling.

"Ye have not been forgotten at court sir, if ye need provisions for the Archangel, ye need but ask."

Turns to the crowd to offer a toast.

"To our Sweethearts and wifes, may they never meet!"

The lads at the bar cheer.

I enter the Pub, surprised at the crowd. Sterling is siting with a young woman unknown to me, and there's that ner-do-well Jacky Tarr ***looks around to make sure there are no Aztecs***

Yet, like a rare jewel among sow's ears, stands a lady. Now, what, I wonder, could such a fine piece of work be doing among a bunch of lowly pirates? And why is Sterling looking at her as if she had snakes for hair?

My curiosity peeked, I push back a red curl, and give her a cock of the head. "Welcome indeed, Lady. My name is Ransom, and though I may look the lad, do not be fooled."

Looks at Ray. "Since the lady is buying, I'll have my usual—French bubbly with a shot of tattoo. Gramercy."

Accepting my drink, I slip into a chair, carefull to step over the usual assortment of bodies on the floor. "Cheers."

I'm sorry for the confusion, Jacky.

Oh, and I will watch myself, Merrydeath! Thank you for the warning!

Tess looks over at the Captain Sterling after Jacky makes his toast.

"Am I to assume that you like toast?"

Sterling frowns a moment then looks to Jacky. "Claims to be a regular at Court and yet knows nothing about toasts and toasting... makes one wonder. She can't be English, we toast at dinner until we pretty much fall down...As I said lad, watch yer back! "

I enter the pub and notice the rabble all crowded around a fine lady.

"Well 'ello miss!" says I, "welcome to 'th pub. What 'ave ye done to get everyone toasting in yer honor?" I stop, thinking. "Oh, ye didn't buy these swines a whole other round of drinks did ye? Drunken dogs..." I laugh.

"Where did ye say ye hail from Miss St. Claire?"

Considers she may be a country lady and less then familiar with English traditions. But Jacky wanting the lady to feel welcome, quips back.

"Aye, I like me toast dry, and thank ye fer askin'."

It's obvious that she is a stranger in a strange land. "What shall you do here, Lady?" Asks the actress as she leans forward to her.

"My darling Lill, why ever do ye care?" Sterling asks. "Come join us for a drink, Pet."

Hello False Ransom, Captain Ariashal, and Black Bess!

Sorry about the Toast thing. My typing leaves a lot to be desired.

Clearing her throat. "I hail from Whitby, but came to court by my father's hand. I now remember the Captain from his years at court. My deepest sympathies to the lost of your beloved wife, Sir. She was quite the pearl, indeed."

In the darkness, a figure comes forward. Reginald Killingsworth enters the comman room and the crowd grows quiet.

He bows low and removes his hat with a flourish.

"Good day, My Sweet Lady St. Claire. It is a wonderous pleasure to see you again. I hope that these...gentle people are not harassing you in any way."

He lifts a coin from his pocket and tosses it upon the bar. "Port, thank you."

Jacky Tar picks up the coin and forces it into Killingsworth pocket. Ray backs away.

"Yer monies no good here, and I'm afraid we're all out of port! I suggest ye quench yer thirst somewhere else."

Several of the pubs larger patrons come to stand behind Jacky.

Pausing mid sampling of port offering, Aurore keeps attention trained on Killingsworth. Their eyes meet briefly as she moves a bit deeper into Sterling's embrace. Finishing original action of elixir sip, her sights travel to where Tess stands soon dismissing any acknowledgment of either.

Across the Common, she notices Doctor Reiley plying the smooth of Irish flatterys to young nubile and smiles amusedly to the display.

Sterling feels Aurore move closer and hugs her a bit tighter.

"I think we're safe here ma chere dame. I believe young Master Tar has old Reg well in hand."

Welcome Miss Tess to our fine establishment. Seems I'm a little late with the hello's.

Tosses her purse upon the bar, still wet from her latest ocean raid.

Ray, I'll have a pear cider...Hope you don't mind if I pay you in pearls.

"Ray I will gladly pay for the ..um.. for Lady Blue's drinks," Sterling says then looks to the Mermaid. "Pearls says you? And how much would ye be wanting for enough to make a fine necklaces says I."

Why thank you Capt. Sterling for the drink. As for the necklace, I'm certain we can work out a trade. Perhaps you can train me in the art of fencing for which payment would be enough pearls for a beautiful necklace. A mermaid never knows when such skills would be required.
