Alright...I'm getting too drunk on Bacardi tonight to follow any stories.

I'm wonderin' what the heck everyone's having tonight. I'm downing Bacardi and Pepsi's tonight. Forgot that I stashed my brandy down stairs. DANNGIT!

Aye, me thinks you are mate. Though I discovered last night, that while I can tell when I'm buzzed, someone usually has to point out when I'm drunk.

Hmmm, it's not Saturday anymore but I discovered that Midori Margaritas are really really REALLY good.

Though following them with a shot of Jaeger is really really REALLY bad.

Hey, it's Saturday again! Good timing!

May favourite drink on a Saturday (or any other time) is my own concoction of an alcoholic cherry cola.

I start by filling a tall glass with ice. Then I pour Nalewka Babuni Cherry Dessert Wine (from Poland) to the halfway mark. Top with Coke (the gold decaf. version for night-time), and garnish with my signature paper parasol and maraschino cherry.

Nalewka Babuni is 18% alcohol and sweet as honey. It also comes in the most perfectly piratey bottle you could imagine -- square, with concave sides, and a cork stopper topped with a red-laquered wooden knob. When the bottle's empty, it makes a nifty pirate-post "envelope" for all your shore-bound messages.

The bottle's even decorated with a red and gold ribbon that you can use to tie back your tarry queue in style!

I've been trying to think of a good piratey name for this cocktail for awhile -- possibly "The Black Pearl". Any other suggestions?

Oh, and please let me know of any other pirate-themed cocktail recipes that you've developed (or plundered).

Cheers, Hester

Guinness.

Actually, I spent Saturday at the Bristol Renaissance Faire with my son, and they seem to not carry Guinness in Wisconsin (except in very, very Irish pubs). So I drank Beamish Stout, which is a fair substitute for Guinness... when one is in Wisconsin.

But when we went out to the local pub last night for pizza, it was Gunness.

The neighbors invited a bunch of us for backyard appetizers and drinks. The conversation turned quickly to that of pirates (everyone knows me, and no one else does anything interesting).

I ran back to my house and returned with the ingredients for Grogtinis (recipe in a couple of other threads) and poured and drank them all night.
