A good homecooked meal often wofts a pleasant aroma...last night I cooked some chili 'n cornbread. I could still smell it a few hours afterwards. Made me feel all warm and comfy like I was wrapped up in a big fuzzy blanket.

I had a friend peel an orange a few days back whilest we were hanging out. Smelled wonderful (nods to CptSatan)...he wasn't nekkid tho'. <_<

Perhaps we'll meet again under better circumstances. ---(---(@

Like you need to be wrapped up in a warm, fuzzy blanket. <_< You silly Florida-living person, you.

Puppies do have that neat puppy smell, don't they? I wonder what it actually is?

"Am I not?"

Capt Sophia,

OOh thank you for a memory. That first cold, crunchy fall day after summer when someone is cooking potroast or meatloaf and you smell it when you go outside with the dog or whatnot. It always invokes the warm thought that there is a family who will be sitting down to dinner together..ahhhh..*sigh*

and yes puppies...I don't know what that is C but it is awesome... My dog doesn't have that smell anymore..I keep asking him but he won't tell....

<_< Hey, at night I do tend to get my thin blood chilled even more (this time of year). I still hold fast to that visual of a warm, fuzzy blanket and a cup of hot cocoa (or smell of well prepared food), even with it's 60 outside and raining. <_<

Puppies smell, clean. Then they grow up and get their own scent and get dirty while they're at it. They still have an interesting smell then too.

Ooh..how I love the smell of freshly baked bread. Reminds me of a story...

Growing up away from my birthplace in California, my parents would often send me on back (to visit relatives), and once or twice during each stay, my grandfather or grandmother would take me to a local bakery where we'd pick up fresh bread (shaped like the Wonder variety), and we'd head to a nearby park and feed the birds, and often ourselves too. Every time I smell fresh bread, I think of those moments.

Back in the Dark Ages when I managed a cafe at a health club, one of the members used to bring me Oroweat bread baked that day. It was amazing. It smelled so good that the loaf never made it home with me; I would share it with my co-workers and no one ever asked for butter or jam to put on their slices - it was that good.

Hmm..I'm not sure. I'll have to ask. It'd be in the San Pedro area (southern CA).

Although I do remember one bakery my family loves in the area. It's named Polly Anns...has the best sugar cookies. My grandmother sends me their cookies every so often (in foodsaver bags). They not only taste divine, but they smell lovely too (a slight hint of lemon).

Hmmm San Pedro is nearby me...but I don't know all the establishments there. Helm's bakery was a tradtion here in the old days...I just vaguely remember it..but it was downtown Los Angeles...but they had the bakery trucks that people talk about to this day that used to cruise the neighborhoods. I just remember the Fuller Brush man...and besides Avon...the Adohr Farms Milk Truck

Nonono you don't understand.

Raw Jet-A fuel - ewww.

But when I arrive at JFK the smell of aircraft burning fuel is like a rush of excitement and the whole process. Those who work at one understand.

Oh Jenny that reminds me of when I was dating an amateur race car driver. There is something about that petroleum fuel & rubber combo that smells good.
