Lyrics Game

Rogue Mermaid

Recommended Posts

Anyone want to play a song lyric game? Someone writes a few lines from a song and then everyone else trys to guess what song it is and who sung it. Once someone gets the answer they get to ask the next question. I'll start:

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a sun......

Ye got that one right.... so, who's next? How does this work again?

Not to get off topic, but a good party game is to tell a story (not terribly unlike the "6 word story" forum) but you can only speak in song titles.

Anyway... I'd like to play this game, but "I'm just waiting on a friend"

Thunder Island by Jay Ferguson

Here's some great lyrics:

"A pensive man am I, of philosophic joys,

who likes to meditate, comtemplate,

free from humanity's mad inhuman noise"

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

i'm afriad i do not know

But why is the rum gone?

Save a horse ride a cowboy!

Take me away and take me farther, suround me now and hold me like holy

My toes are getting pruney

Also my head is round that window is square....

My name is Micheal J Kabous and i eat babies!

Your toast has been burned and no amount of scraping will remove the black stuff

give up?

NEVER! But more hints be welcome!

I wonder if one of the most important steps on our journey is the one in which we throw away the map.

My fathers knew of wind and tide, and my blood is maritime.

I don't pretend to be captain weird.

I just do what I do.

K, here's another:

"She's been around, but she's young and clean. I gotta have her, can't live without her......oh, no!"

The next part is the title of the song. Think rock and roll, hair band. Only 2 clues I'll throw out. :)

Well, "Christine Sixteen" actually, but yeah, ye got it! And yup, by KISS, woo-hoo!

And for yours, "Hungry like a Wolf". Got an 80's thing going on-lol!

Here be another one:

"Do you believe in Heaven above?

Do you believe in love?

Don't tell me lies, don't be false or untrue,

It all comes back to you!

Open fire, on my burning heart

Of never been lucky in love

My defenses are down

A kiss or a frown

I can't survive on my own....."

"Send Me Angel", by Real Life...

To continue on the 80's theme...

"Moving forward using all my breath

Making love to you was never second best

I saw the world thrashing all around your face

Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace"

*In best early morning radio voice...*

"And that last one was Year of the Cat, by The Guy's Name Escapes Me! Next, I'd like to sing a little number by a friend of mine...

Old pirates, yes they rob I

Sold I to a Merchant ship..."
