Am currently reading William Owen's autobiographical IN CAMP AND BATTLE WITH THE WASHINGTON ARTILLERY OF NEW ORLEANS.

Also, Harold Peterson's ROUND SHOT AND RAMMERS: hard to imagine any better a general work on cannon history, from the early 1500's through the American Civil War.

I've just started reading it; but I'm betting that the answer will be AYE! Already I'm seeing many pics and descriptions of the carriages, tools, etc. (I'm still in the early chapters; and the early days - but about to commence reading the Chapter that goes from the late 17th through late 18th century).
