It's one thing to get smart, it's another to get cocky, but, it is entirley another thing to get plain arrogant.

A pirates death dream

I am the stalker who sails through the night

I dine on your sorrow

I breathe on your fright

When you feel lost, all adrift and alone

There you will find me, plucking your soul

Not all at once, as a glutton to feast

But, little by little

Piece by piece

And when I have finished

you'll feel all hope is gone

Then I will leave you

And set sail with a song

And who am I you ask.. to make such claims

who can boast with such pride

for causing sorrow and pain

An answer you seek, but, none will you find

My indentity I'll keep

After all it is mine

And if this small news... upsets you so

Then I'll thank you now

for my gift to go

And if tommorrow arises remember to look

For as soon as you do I'll have you

String.. line ..and hook

Who you be referrin' to?

Blow me up, blow me down, I'm a blowin' on the tide...

It was not my intention to be insultin' you!

Blow me up, blow me down, I'm a blowin' on the tide...

You open fire with cannon and verse

Blow me up, blow me down, I'll be blowin' on the tide...

To see just who, if any, is worse

Blow me up, blow me down, I'll be blowin' on the tide...

You stalk the seas for likely prey

Blow me up, blow me down, I'm a blowin' on the tide...

And none you hunt see the break of day

Blow me up, blow me down, I'm a blowin' on the tide...

My methods, dear, are much less cold

Blow me up, blow me down, I'll be blowin' on the tide...

I'll love ya up, THEN steal yer gold!

Blow me up, blow me down, I'll be blowin' on the tide...

No steppin' on toes here, MMM. I'm happy to share the boards with everyone. This little corner was ORIGINALLY started as a way for Captain Flint and I to take harmless bashes at each other. But, I'm happy to see that it has grown.

Captain Weaver has the best limericks on the Seven Seas and most of the land. Way to go, Cap'n!

Anyway, enjoy the little corner for poetry. I'm glad that someone feels like rhyming. Right now, I feel like rhyming...right on top of the head of a telemarketer.

"There once was a telemarketer

Who...."

Ah, never mind!

Where's the Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum? Scratch that. Found it.

Cheers!

Capt.Roberts,

thank you much fer the kind words o praise.

and I be likin yer rhymin too.

I find that the competion part of this, takes the focus off of the pretty words and instead makes it a grubbin for dominance.

I just like ta rhyme a bit-no competin fer me.

There once was a telemerketer named Fred

Who's phone got glued to his head

He called Captain Lizzie

And kept her phone busy

He's lucky he didn't wind up dead!!

Nods to Captain Weaver for inspiration...

Oh dear! Is this the end of our spirited banter? I was having such fun!

A toast, A toast my friends

To a most worthy opponent!

The cannons blazed and eyes glazed

If only for a moment!

  • 2 weeks later...

:(

Phone got glued to his head! HAHAHA! I like that, and I wish it was true. I think I'm going to have to order "Privacy Director" or change my phone number. I have my Internet set up so that if a call rings in, it cuts me off. I have had several family emergencies lately, and I can't miss a call!

There once was a telemarketer named Ted

Who aggravated to earn his bread

He called up old Westyn

Who knew how to best him

And he woke up one morning quite dead

Love to Captain Weaver again...another lovely limerick!
