Come in costume and be prepared to shake your booty to 88.9 Radio Milwaukee’s DJ Marcus Doucette, create your own pirate beard or bling your own eyepatch with MPM’s saucy crafts crew, try a Mooncusser cocktail featuring Roaring Dan’s Rum by Great Lakes Distillery, and even get sneak preview of our new special exhibition, Real Pirates.

On Deck at the Buccaneer Bash

Real Pirates exhibit preview

Test your sea legs amidst real pirate treasure reclaimed from the ocean floor. This special exhibit preview will put you among the first to experience Real Pirates, which does not open to the general public until mid-December.

Costume Contest

Costumes are strongly encouraged, and may even prove lucrative! The Buccaneer Bash will feature a best costume contest, and winners will take home amazing loot like Food & Froth tickets, a Great Lakes Distillery gift basket, Wine & Dine Wisconsin tickets, or a trip around town on the Milwaukee Pedal Tavern.

DJ Marcus Doucette

Get ready for some booty shaking rhythms as 88.9’s own Marcus Doucette takes to the tables to fill the salty air with music from the Caribbean and port cities around the globe.

Crafts

Bling your own eye patch, or create your own pirate beard with MPM’s saucy crafts crew.

Your Mug on a Billboard

Learn how a photo of you, decked out in your nattiest pirate gear, can appear on a Lamar billboard.

Grub& Rum

Food and drink will be provided by Zilli Hospitality Group, including vegetable and cheese platters, and “chef’s choice” appetizers. Also look out for the specialty drink of the evening, “The Mooncusser,” a concoction of Great Lakes Distillery’s Roaring Dan's Rum and Sprecher Cream Soda. Buccaneer Bash admission includes food and one drink ticket.

The Forsaken

Let professional pirates show you how it’s done! The Forsaken, a living history/reenactment group, will be on hand to give you stories of life on the high seas, and demonstrate how a pirate might go about their day-to-day activities.
