WAY COOL!

We are all a little nuts but man ...that was almost as amazing as the storm on the Kalmar Nykel only no pitch or roll. :P

Can't say I would want to do that for every event but what an adventure!

yup. if you were there and don't begin your story with "no s$^%, there we were...", you we're obviously safe and warm in a pub or hotel. The encampment in the storm was THE party of the year!

*now I'll admit, many camps have been through storm, but how many have had the fury of the Chesapeake Bay breaking whitecaps between the tents where land was dry an hour earlier.

It was tempting to start the story that way when I reported back to the Loyalists, but I didn't *G* I think in decades of reenacting, that was the best/worst I've ever been in, and it was awesome!

Sounds like Fort deChartres in Illinois. There have been many storms that made people run for cover that wasn't there. I've been in a verified tornado and two micro-bursts at that site over the years. The "survivors parties" afterward are always awesomew though! Whitecaps between the tents though, that only happens there after the heavy rain while the wind is still blowing and before the tents blow down. Sounds like a great time anyway, sorry I missed that. I could use another good storm-tale for my growing collection. :P

Maybe next year we'll get some airsoft cannons and a couple of longboats and "shoot" them out of the water?
