Latest project

Recommended Posts

Well now the weather here in the frozen North has turned, I am back in the shop. Here is my most recent project, it is a slightly altered copy of a knock down trestle table that we bought at MTA from the great folks of Lord Grey's Retinue. All she needs now is finish sanding, stain and a good coat of oil.

Pretty standard construction, breadboard edge on tabletop to keep it flat, wedged stretcher. I did use Allen screw fastener nuts from the big orange box to tie the leg assemblies to the top. (some minor modification required) The whole thing packs down to 70" L x 22.5" W x 3.5" thick. I sized the top to fit up against the wall of my trailer.

Very nice indeed! wink.gif

One comment though - the bottom feet look a bit thin for a traveling table.

Their thinness, particular in pine, may subject them to damage.

I thought about that, they are 5/4 stock and the clearest grained portions of the boards, If I run into problems, I can apply hardwood runners to the bottom for added strength.

Now that's what I like! Good looks meets usefull meets packs up small! The best of the best! I really like the design on the legs!

Careful now, Cap'n Rob always was a leg man. :P

20 more huh? Can do Cap, if you come up and take over the gardening :P

I would offer to do the gardening but that means you & Lily would have to feed me and Sophie would have to give up her bedroom ...oh, and I can't get that much time off of work ...and I can't afford the transportation ...and I would have to find someone to take care of the dog and ...never mind.
