Love on the High Seas

Once ‘pon a time, a silly way to start.

But how else to tell a tale from my heart?

It be ‘bout love, ‘tween a man and a lass

Whose body would tempt a priest giving mass

This tale does not start with help from above

To tell you the truth, it starts in a pub

Sailor were drinkin’, as they’re want to do

Others be eating Salmagundi Stew.

Now sailors get loose-lipped, when they get drunk

Talkin’ ‘bout ships that could use a good dunk

And on this dark night a king learned o’ one

It would set sail ‘pon the rise of the sun

Why would a king be ‘round scoundrels like these?

Well he was a pyrate, King of the Seas

He was quite rugged, wore no silk or lace

And he be known by all as Captain Justin Kase

Enough of him now, we’ll talk of him more

Later when cannons erupt with a roar

Let’s talk of the ship, which he would be after

That others hadn’t heard over drunk laughter

It be a Spanish Galleon, with gold in its hold

Begging for stealing by those who were bold

And planning was needed for this thievery

So he quaffed his grog, and then took his leave

Now while he left the pub, on that dark night

Another had Spanish gold locked in her sight

She was the lass we mentioned before

And lo be the man who mistook her for whore

She too was a pyrate, with her own ship

And she was not one to let this prey slip

So plans she did make while drinking her rum

On just how to spend that nice tidy sum

Both made for their ships, and gathered their crews

For the next day they would collect their foul dues

And two different crews there couldn’t have been

One sported women, the other one men

When next morning came, the crews were all set

Yearning and drooling for gold they would get

They knew of the ship that soon would set sail

Both crews had their plans they knew would not fail

So ships sailed through day and all the next night

And by the next dawn, there be an island in sight

They approached the island from opposite ends

And had no clue what be round the next bend.

They sailed into a bay, and a fog did descend

And neither saw the each other as they came round the bend.

Upon Spanish galleon both ships did creep

Looking ‘pon it as a wolf looks ‘pon sheep

Their cannons were loaded and swords were drawn

Itching for a fight like true devil spawn.

One larboard, one starboard, they bordered the ship

Waiting for orders from their captains’ lip

And Orders were given, cannons did roar

Flashes of light made cannon balls soar

The galleon groaned with each direct hit

The sailors aboard were having a fit

Now the orders be simple, to cripple, not sink

For gold be hard to remove from the drink

But just as the pyrates were to board the doomed ship

Justin did watch as it took a quick dip

Oh he was mad, as furious as can be

For he watched his prize go to sly Mistress Sea

Justin then yelled at his master gunner

Commanded the shocked pyrate, “What the hell sunk her?”

As if answering him, the fog did disperse

And Justin did stifle another loud curse

For across the way, upon her own ship

Was Captain Anya, with her hands on her hips

She watched as the gold sank, far out of her reach

And blamed her foul luck on some son-of-a-beach

It was then she looked up and peered cross the smoke

Any other harsh words were stopped ‘fore her lips spoke

Their eyes did meet ‘cross the smoke and the fire

And each could sense, a deep dark desire

Because they be pyrates, ‘twas not love at first sight

But it be a feeling that would last into the night

Both crews were silent as their captains stood there

Not moving an inch, for no one would dare

They be wary if their captains be riled

Then Justin did wink, and Anya then smiled

By the time the sun set on both of the ships

Both crews were entwined from their lips to their hips

Some of the crew could be found wrapped within sheets

Others were in the crow, doing acrobatic feats

Now lust turned to love on that briefest of nights

As two were made one by dawn’s early light

Over breakfast he asked her to come sail with him

But she would not leave her crew on the smallest of whims

“So bring them along, that’s what we will do”

“My ship be big enough for either one crew or two”

She then asked of him, “But what of my ship?”

“I’ve plans for its use, on more than this trip.”

He had no answer, so he kissed her instead

And they both fell ‘pon his large captain’s bed

Hours later, in dreams he found her asleep

From the cabin Justin did silently creep

She woke from her dreams with a smile ‘pon her face

Then frowned just a bit as her hand touch dead space

She lay on a bed that was ‘posed to be shared

And opened her eyes to find no one else there

She fixed her wild hair and put on a long coat

And went to find he who captained this boat

She found him on deck, the crews seemed asleep

Her boat stood empty, floating there ‘pon the deep

She stood there confused, then the truth hit,

When Justin did whisper simply, “Sink it.”

And cannons did roar, and cannon balls flew

And they struck her ship, as they’re want to do

“YOU BASTARD, YOU MONSTER.” She did yell at him

But he could not hear her over the loud din

She slapped him, and hit him, and slapped him some more

And he took it and watched her ship sink to the floor

And that be the start of their intriguing love life

And believe it or not he took her for wife

But before she would wed, a promise was wrest

He would replace the ship that he had laid to rest</SPAN>
