Looking good, especially since you aren't letting Dutch take any more pictures... hopefully we shall stop by on Sunday with Momma and Poppa... see ye all then.

Looking even better since we don't let him do any of the work on her either! tongue.gif

Don't ask how I screwed up port & starboard, talk about a serious brain fart!

BTW DUTCHIE - I've seen it spelled shearline and sheerline. I may not know how to spell or what side of the boat is what but at least I'm smart enough not to drop an oak beam on my bloody foot!

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday Cap'n

larboard... lets see, that would be your bad eye- which would explain why you kept missing the dock at pohick, see if I ever let you at the helm of the Explorer again.

I didn't miss the dock at Pohick, when it mattered, as twas on the STARBOARD side... finding it at first... wellll ye got me there... but once I turned around...far enough...snigger...hell, I was fine...

Wish I was closer, I can get oak lumber CHEAP from the Amish. I got enough full dimension 2"X12"-@8ft. to do both horse trailers for $75, already cured indoors.

Anyhow, when do you want this chest and trinkets for fundraising? I'm working the forge Saturday morning to make some new strikers and some ends for a yoke and hopefully get somewhere with these lantern holders for Callenish.(third attempt at this!)

I have only recently learned of this project and I am very interested in helping in whatever way that I can.

I do live a bit of a distance from you, but I have been giving some serious thought to a relocation. Perhaps a few weekends of volunteer work over the coming months would be mutually beneficial.

I have a bit of experience that you might find helpful... At various points in my life I have been a boatbuilder; done some wooden boat restoration, and even worked several years in a sail loft. I currently turn out carved & gilded signs from my workshop in NY's Hudson Valley. Probably a little too soon to be thinking of the Name & Hale for Luna, but please keep me in mind.

Lots to consider first...

I have an entire woodworking shop that would need a new home; and then there is what to do for a living.

I do imagine that your area might be an even better marker for carved & gilded signs than here in NY... if the economy

ever picks up again.

Must make a pilgrimage soon.

I.C.- we can put you to use, but there are some requirements.......

first, master carpentry skills are not needed, but are appreciated and used. so being able to read a ruler is a great start. we do a lot of OJTing with new folks- and we also do a lot of learning as we go.

second- be able to laugh at yourself. if not we'll do it for you.

Third- lots of research, CSF is more than a ship. We spend a lot of time doing research and educational programs. thinking outside the box is good.

Fourth- do you like to eat??

The big Luna news......

(i'm going to repost this part in the market when we get set for paypal)We have our new compilation CD , loaded to the gunwales, out!!! Its an amazing 20 tracks of original and traditional sea chanties from artists on two continents. Willoughby Caught, the Brigands, Rusty Cutlass, Skip Henderson, Bob Zents to name a few. Proceeds go to the Foundation.

and the really big news- we landed our second major financial anchor. We have a long way to go, but we wont be stopping work any time soon!!
