Mmmmm, Tank Girl. Would that I were so Brave. I am more the Jet Girl type.

Oh, no. Now the mental link is forged; you have to do it! :D (I cannot picture this. Then again, I cannot picture you in a kilt.)

Mycroft: "My brother has the brain of a scientist or a philosopher, yet he elects to be a detective. What might we deduce about his heart?"

John: "I don't know."

Mycroft: "Neither do I. But initially he wanted to be a pirate."

:( I'll do it, if you are a Ripper 'Roo ~ I think I can ask Patrick to help out with the ears and tail... :(

I'll have you know that I have been Baby Bop in public - and that's apparently a girl character - so I'll be more than happy to be a Ripper 'Roo.

Go ahead, Jones. Blow it up. That was one hot costume. Plus the little kids would see you and they would fling themselves at you like a guided missile. Unfortunately, their very hard, bony heads are at just the wrong level - so you have to keep your big mitten-covered hands in front of you to avoid potentially painful collisions. "Never willingly dress in a Baby Bop costume," is my motto.

So when do I get my Ripper 'Roo costume, Patrick? It has to be articulated like the movie characters.

I'm a pirate, love. By nature and by choice!

My inner voice sometimes has an accent!

My wont? A delicious rip in time...

Unfortunately, I have to do it real cheap/inexpensively.... I'm thinking of using some copper pipe, and sculpy... and making the keys... I already have a page with all the keys (just have to print it out..)

Right now, all my money is going to just stay alive, and for PiP..... Dang Economy/cash flow (or trickle...... )

Sounds kewl. As far as the keys, I just knew they were offered now and again, but didn't know what price they were going for.

Your home made ones will probably end up looking better anyway.

Here is another fun link to a blog site run by one of the editors (I think, or connected in some way) of Steampunk Magazine.

Yeah.. unfortunately, the airship ride got canceled due to the weather (I couldn't afford the $700 something anyway...... )

I wish I could find an on-line video/or copy of Captain Roberts....(I think that is what the song is called....)

Captain Roberts took his crew...

To Snagrala and Tinbucktoo.....

Some got tiered, some went mad

some he kicked off ship in Chad.....

Hangin at Execution dock awaits. May yer Life be a long and joyous adventure in gettin there!
As he was about to face the gallows there, the pirate is said to have tossed a sheaf of papers into the crowd, taunting his audience with these final words:

"My treasure to he who can understand."

I started kinda working on an Airship Pyrate waistcoat.... Last week I bought an old black leather jacket for $6.00 at a thrift store that I was going to cut up and make a flight helmet out of.... but the more I looked at it... the more it didn't want to be a flight helmet, and wanted to be an Airship Pyrate waistcoat instead....

So far, I've cut off the sleeves, and I have to do some minor tailoring to the body to make it fit better... figure I'll add breast pockets and eppielets... I have to re-make the four lower outside pockets (they were made from too thin cloth, so I'll replace them with canvas or linen)... but I'll make them larger for more loot anyway.... and add some more on the inside... LOTS of pocket fer all them usefull Airship Pyrate swag an stuff...(like a couple a' flask an' extra loot) Hey... an Airship Pyrate utility vest.......

I had to cut off the zipper, but I'm kinda stuck with the snaps... can't take them off without scaring the leather..... Then distress the snot outta it.... it's already nicely scruffy... but a little more won't hurt.....

And add a heavy leather pauldron on the right shoulder with a painted winged skull....

I've mentioned this before, but for Golden Age Pyrates, the look is simple enough to make it recognizable as a Pyrate... but for a Steampunk Airship Pyrate, I have to kinda invent a look that "screams" Airship Pyrate for a time that never really existed......Ittsa fun project, but there are some design bits that I'm still working on.....

Yaaar,

My opinion (if you'll have it) would be much like the WWI red baron type. Gotta think warm clothing for high altitudes and winds aloft. I know they are corny, but bushy collars and cuffs always scream "air" something. Goggles for them peepers unless your thinking of an enclosed cockpit (fictional ship of course).

Just a funny idea.. but I'm thinking goggles that are attached to a tricorn hat. Without the straps of course. Maybe the bottom of some rum bottles strapped together and lashed to the hat. I think the main focus is going to be accessories. Little wind vanes and whatever else nautical. Flying still uses the same system of navigating so there's not much difference.

Such a fun idea, the airship pirate. Really wish I had some better ideas for you mate.

True about the belts... But for that price you get the buckles and the leather to make some cool belt rigs or a bandoleer???

See where I'm going with that???

The Swiss Mil or the Belgium Jacks.. could easily be cut down for Ike jackets... I've also been browsing various patch sites... I'll include one if I can go back and find it...??

Here we go http://www.americanpatches.com/

They have various patches from movies and shows... But I might get something custom made for a shoulder and such???

For me I'm thinking on a collarless shirt in white... Or probably my worn out woodrich, worn under an Ike... Mabe even with the sleeves lopped off for vest use...I'm planning to make a brown or black canvas duster/ flying coat... like my mid length leather coat...Maybe I'll just use the damn leather.... or maybe a wool overcoat with all kinds of repairs and crap... I also have a pair of Black CW cav boots... and maybe a pair of brown stripped woolpants... Or my Russian uniform bottoms???

Chem mask will be hanging or parttially cut away and mounted by snaps to the collar for when the air goes toxic and a bum needs to breath... BTW: that's when the goggles really need to come in, since you can draw chemicals in through your glazzies!!!

Pistol and boomers???

Mock up from my crappy 1860 Colt Army?? Maybe something added to my 1891 pump repro???

maybe something added to my S&W model 10 for a shoulder rig???

Yeah I've been doing some searching for gear and such so folks can find the good stuff they need!!!

After all....should an event come up... Folks should have the right sh-tuff!!

They might even have goggles on that site??
