Pike River Event Kenosha

Rats

Recommended Posts

It was great playing with everyone at Kenosha this year. Two pirate groups made for even more fun by the beach.

There was an event up the hill from us, but I hardly ever got up there except to visit friends and relatives.

Special thanks from me to Brigands Folie for their music, Matt Utley for his Coq D'Vin, Captain Bo for his selections of rum, Captain Brian for taking me out in the Pirata Del'Lago, Valerie for letting me letting take the tiller on her boat, Lark for Fire-Dancing, Rats for being such a dude, and to everyone--too numerous to detail--else who helped make my hometown event my favorite event of the year.

Any ideas for next year?

Your most and obliged humble servant,

William Dezoma

I plan to bring all five of us next year. Having the park and the beach for the kids to play at makes this an ideal location for a short family vacation event. Thanks back to you Will for the Pyrat rum as well! B) Keep me "in the loop" for plans regarding next year so we can come prepared. Thanks to all the Wisconsin/area folk for such grand treatment for a hillbilly visitor!

Billie took some good pictures, too (I don't actually know if they're good - I just know that I'm in 'em!)

"The time was when ships passing one another at sea backed their topsails and had a 'gam,' and on parting fired guns; but those good old days have gone. People have hardly time nowadays to speak even on the broad ocean, where news is news, and as for a salute of guns, they cannot afford the powder. There are no poetry-enshrined freighters on the sea now; it is a prosy life when we have no time to bid one another good morning."

My dear captain...

That's my good friend and partner from work Aaron! He's been wanting to join the crew and has been teaching ( ok trying to teach) ol' Rats a thing or two about stage combat. He worked live-steel and is very familiar with all the various forms.

At short notice he quickly put together a cutlass, blade and boarding axe demo and discussion for Pike.

I'll be honest, if it weren't for him and a few of my other buddies at work I wouldn't have both made it or even wanted to stay with my dept. He's a damn good man and if asked to sign articles, would make an excellent addition to the crew!

Hmmm... tha gunfire image with those 1812 soldiers and other colonial folks... a couple faces there who look familiar. Pick out John Saunter right away. Th' devil is so EASY to spot.

Thank ye for th' images, Rats.

Sounds like a plus, tell him to consider himself pressed...

I'll pass the word Captain! Him and his family will be stopping by for breakfast tomorrow.

Like I said, he'll be a great addition to the crew and really best kind of people! Lord knows he's put up working wit me for the last three and a half years!!
