Breast cancer pins

55 posts in this topic

I get my mammosite (balloon shaped tube) put in on the 3rd, and then radiation starts on July7- July 12.. 2x daily.. freedom from cancer for me!

I won't be able to get it wet, so bathing will be a challenge, and no ruff movments like scrubbing.

Both I and my better half would by one, and at $10.00 each, I think that would be wonderful.

I am a major breast lover and I will do anything to save them and the women they are connected to.

Let me know when you are going to sell them, maybe we can also strike a deal and I can sell them in my booth for you at the different faires in Oklahoma and the surrounding area.

Capt Jack, if you happen to know a grand gent by the name of A Owen, a landsknecht from OK, tell him hello from me!

I'm putting together a myspace and a website for the buttons, but I'm not sure if RFP is selling them for $10 or $15.. I'll have to ask.

and for an update. I had my extra work hours in (11 in one day) and my hair cut (lost 7 inches) and the cat sitter ready and even the lawn done for my radition.. 30 minutes before I left for the treatment, my insurance decided that the procedure might be iffy and put in place a 10 day review. I have to wait up to 10 days to see if they will cover it or I have to have an all over radiation that will be my last shot at treating the cancer.. The other insurance that is $400 per month, my ex never got the divorce decree to them, so they denied the treatment until they get a read-able decree, and then maybe ok it..

I'm begining to hate insurances when they mess with people.

awesome!! I love the detailing around her belt.. very winsome and handsome, with a nice 'treasure chest'!

another wonderful addition to a pirate's chest.

Renfairepirate and I decided to sell the buttons at the faires and for non-piracy orders at $15 each, with most going to Breast Cancer Research.

As a special favor to our pyracy friends, we'll keep it at $10 a button.

Remember that most of the profit goes to Breast Cancer Research..

As a favor from you, could you mention where to get one if any one asks? I'm starting a Myspace account for piratesthinkpink, with contact info, and piratesthinkpink@yahoo.com

I got my pins in the mail the other day and all I can say is WOW!!

I love the details and size of the pins. They are bigger then a silver dollar and a bit more weight but not enough to pull. I've had some orders already on the site for them, and more from others who have seen it from someone else.. and most goes to American Cancer Society.. for breast cancer.

Thank you, renfaire pirate!

I saw this posted on the official Talk Like a Pirate Day 2008 Event page. I hope this means pin orders soar through the roof!

# Pirates for Breast Cancer awareness: Captain Merrydeath of the Fools Gold Pirates is selling three different designs of pins with pirattittude with profits going to support breast cancer awareness and early mammograms. She writes, "In June I found out I had breast cancer, and after getting COBRA ($400 ea month x2) for my surgery and radiation, I would have spent $50,000 before insurance. Knowing there are women out there without insurance to cover this huge bill, I"m having pewter pins made for me." The pins can be purchased for $15 each from http://www.myspace.com/piratesthinkpink

I saw a bumper sticker while picking up me lil' scallywags from school and it was sheer brilliance....

"Save the taataa's" over a watermarked pink ribbon.

it just goes to show that even the crude can inspire people to work for a cause. let me know how much you finally decide on and how to get one. i'll get enough for the whole crew!!

Thanks to all who are helping support our ta-tas.. in both ways. 1 in 7 women will get breast cancer at some time and that is way too many.

Renfairepirate has done a GREAT job at selling the pins and letting people know about Breast Cancer. I'm excited about gains that are being made against BC, and how many women are finding it earlier, so they have a better chance at survival.

pass it on.. save a life, give your female loved one a mammogram. (pat yourself on the front AND the back.)

I'm done for the traveling for now, but I'm still moving stuff into boxes. I'm hoping to get on with making the tees and maybe some other pin ideas.

and in case you were wondering, I did get a bill for $40,000 only from the radiation I had. I also got about 8 statements for my surgery, xrays, MRI's, surgery, and biopsies. I still owe $500 after insurance just for those. Thank all the gods for COBRA insurance.

I want to thank renfairepirate for making the pins I am selling for BC here in IA. He sells his at the KC faire and in MO BC. I'm hoping that we can not only help find a cure but also make people aware how common it is, and how brutal.

thanks from the bottom of my bodice.

This is a bit late to post this, but I ended my 5 year Campaign against Cancer with No Evidence of Disease. This doesn't mean its gone, since we all have the cells in us, but it does mean that as of now, I'm consider free and clear of breast cancer. (fist pump and high fives!!)

I've had a few minor problems with arm swelling, cold intolerance, and occasional pain, but I'm so glad and surprised I'm here, with my new husband, and yes life is good!

I want to thank everyone who helped move me thru the past 5+ years, with rum, prayers, blessings, kicks in the butt, long hours talking. and your friendship. I would not be here without it. REALLY.

I want to tell all of you, "thank you", and "I love you", to all my pirate angels. Blessings to you all!
