  1. Captain Tuerie

    Boots

    From the album: Tuerie's Wardrobe

Shot of my boots. The weathering looks a lot more harsh in this image than it does in person.

  2. ~ The Boots ~ You’ll notice that I only model the right one for you. That has to do with the (only) reason I’m selling them. I ordered these from Caboots (familiar to many of you) and they are really very fine. Ask someone with a pair of Caboots boots. However, I only got to wear them twice, because a little thing happened - not related to the boots - that required the titanium vendor to rebuild my left foot, and when he did my left foot was just a bit too wide for these wonderful boots. The foot works; I'm not complaining. I ordered square toes to look more period and leather soles and heels. You can certainly find cheaper boots - but these were not made from the slowest goat in Pakistan – these are tough North American cognac suede – the color is the same as Jack Sparrow’s boots from Curse of the Black Pearl. He had darker boots later on. Except for these being cleaner they look just like his. I even got the bootmaker to send me some of the same hide and I made some spur straps and strap covers from it. I’ll include them too if you want them for English Civil War games or something. They're in Men's 8 1/2D, which is a Ladies' 10 1/2 if a friend of yours needs some boots. I don't have to paint a picture, do I? You remember that scene with Kiera Knightly on the beach in At World's End, don't you? These boots cost me $400 before the options; I’ll sell them to you for $250 plus shipping. Of course I take paypal if you don't want to send a check.
  3. Okay, yes I've seen SCA Boots. And yes, I looked for a similiar posting in Plunder, to no avail. I was sure I'd seen a post before, but here goes, I've got $$ coming back from Uncle Sam, and after I spoil myself with a new computer (imac g5 it's sooo sweet), anyways I need a pair of boots. Where would you scurvy dogs suggest I go?
  4. I've this pair of leather boots for years. Over time they've gotten wet a few times getting on and off the ship and the boots have begun to sag pretty badly. Any ideas on how to keep me leather boots erect? I don't want to be walking around with saggy leather flopping around. Thank you for your help in advance Capn Antonio Malasses
  5. I have a pair of sea boots that are made by "Pleaser". They are real leather, not the greatest, but still real, and have a vinyl lining. They're pretty darn good boots, they've held up for a year and half of constant wearing so far. The only problem is this, I am about 115-120 pounds and I have SCRAWNY lil legs. These boots were made for someone with a larger calf. With no internal support system, (which I've tried to do as you shall see below), they just fall down about my ankles and look ridiculous. So how do I get them to fit? I've super-glued paint strips, yardstick pieces, and neither of them hold up very well. The superglue tears the lining off after a few wears. Any suggestions on how I can make them stay up permanently? I've had a couple ideas, but I'm curious to see what ye might have to say...
