Premise of the story is: The real Jack Sparrow was almost completely written out of the history books (because he owed all those historians money, LOL), except for a few passages that one of the writers of potc read about and used as a template. So now everyone knows who he is, but it took a Disney Movie to finally get him some recognition. I play the real Jack Sparrow but everyone thinks I'm just an impersonator. The real Jack (me) lived on by drinking the water from the fountain of youth. Think a dis-gruntled Jack Sparrow (who turns out to be a real person..errr. pirate) and not even Johnny knew he existed. The idea is about Keith Richards being a descendent of the Sparrow bloodline and combined with Johnny Depp using him as reference and Johnny's natural weirdness and a combination of other circumstances got everything almost right.. in that they managed to re-create the real Jack Sparrow, right down to his appearance.. but the real Jack Sparrow is angry and believes he is owed something for them using his likeness and getting him all wrong. These are the pictures from that day, the video is being edited together and I'll post it when it's done. Ello mates, as the titel says, I'm new to the pub. I've been a member of keeptothecode for a little while now and learned about this place from my friend Nick. Anyway, my name is Janty, but my friends call me Jants and I'm a costume/prop maker and most recentely put together a Sparrow costume. I posted some pictures in the "Raid" section, but learned that I should come to this section and say ahoy! Well my name is Jants, newbie to this forum. Just wanted to share my first real pirate party, which turned out to be a great fun. Got to meet various cast members of POTC, made kids jaws drop to the floor and got to hang out with a bunch of friends and made new ones. They had a nice area blocked off, with vendors and pirates everywhere. Got plenty of compliments and even had Lee, Marty, Treva, Vince, David Patykewich and many others tell me nice things about my attire and over-all look... was amazing. I also ran into Mike, who dressed as Davey Jones and straight up had a blast. This bar felt like Tortuga, they had a wench auction, drunken pirates were everywhere and must have had my picture taken with a million people, LOL! In other words, a memorable evening. Onto the pics: Before we left. With Kate from Topnotchcostumes and my friend Mike as the amazing Davy Jones: Lee and Marty, great guys: David: Scarlette, Gizelle, the gorgeous female Captain Sparrow (clothes all made by Kate): Treva and Vince, great guys and funny as hell.. had some hilarious chats with these two, while drinking down some rum: These two were some of the coolest dudes, chatted with them a bit and they looked like straight up pirates, sucked through time: A lovely wench I met, whom I promised would bid on.. but didn't get the chance: Being Jack is good. What purpose does it serve pointing a pistol, when the pistol won't achieve it's purpose in the first place?
