  1. Nah. 2.5" spacing would be too wide for a table. Unless you put a glass top on it. Then I'd end up shattering it on a drunken binge some night. Stick with the original 1". You could even build the table as a storage cube, where the hatch is propped up to access the items inside. That would be a great thing to have for those of us in smaller houses.
  2. This Captain Twill forum is the only one I really read here, as I'm not terribly interested in pirate history. I prefer basic nautical history, particularly that of the 19th to very early 20th centuries. In doing some research, I discovered that the National Maritime History Society has opened a discussion forum on their wonderful website. Unfortunately, its so new I'm the only one who has posted so far. Even if you're not interested in the forums themselves, do yourself a favor and check out the educational tidbits on the site. 3. Apparently even the local historical society doesn't quite know. History of Murrells Inlet Richard
  4. Keep in mind that the river wasn't always that shallow. There have been a lot of manmade changes to the area over the past few centuries. Drainage isn't what it used to be, traffic increases constantly, etc. Rivers like to make there own way through a landscape. But most can no longer do so, because of building along the banks. In trying to constrain a river to our boundaries, we might be constraining ourselves by inadvertantly narrowing channels and building sandbars. Richard
