  1. Oooooh, thanks! I am excited! I just hope its as good as the first!
  2. Thanks to all of you! I really appreciate your suggestions and comments. I, myself, am in the middle of reading Under The Black Flag by David C and am rather enjoying it. It is indeed very formal but I suppose I expected it to be so and don't really mind since I'm trying to learn all I can. (It's amazing how dorky I can make myself sound! ) Anyways, I'm definetly going to try to find the books mentioned. (Hopefully there will be enough time for this during the upcoming Christmas holidays . . . school . . . *shudder*) If I can think of any other books to suggest to all of you, I'll post them. Thanks again!
  3. I thought I'd begin this topic because I recently purchased a book simpley titled 'Pirates!' by Celia Rees. It mentions numerous pyrates such as Anne Bonny, Calico Jack and so on. So far, it is really good and I suggest it to anyone who is interested in pyrate stories. (It was, however, in the teen fiction section . . . befitting to me because I am a teen . . . but it may appeal to most adults as well!) I was also wondering if anyone else has a pyrate book/story etc that they would like to tell me or anyone else about just because I find it an interesting subject . . . obviously . . . :) Thanks for taking the time to reply!
  4. I must be honest with all of you . . . I can not wait for this movie to come out! I saw the trailer for it when I went to see Pirates of the Caribbean for the second time and I have been excited since that moment on . . . I'm a big Peter Pan fan!
  5. oh, halloween! what could be better? ummm... Hocus Pocus . . . its just too good not to include. The Lost Boys . . . Corey H and F . . . and Kiefer, sigh, whats not to love? Dream A Little Dream . . . the eighties outfits get me ready for dressin' up. Pirates of the Caribbean . . . theres nothing better! . . . and I think I'm spent, I can't think of any more.
  6. I am told that I like a lot of 'bad' movies. One of my favorites is 'Dream A Little Dream' (anyone seen it?) with Corey Haim and Corey Feldman . . . I can't help it, I luv them! Tank Girl, as previously mentioned . . . and . . . let me think . . . oh! Ha, 'Earth Girls Are Easy' is great . . . even I have to admit that its a little . . . questionable . . . but I love Jim Carrey, Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, and the songs are just too funny.
  7. hey! I salute you! Tank Girl may not be the best movie to some but I thought it was hilarious! I love the . . . um . . . Rippers! They were so funny . . yes . . . and I'm surprised to find that the majority of you like vampire movies! i love 'em too; even if Queen of the Damned was a little corny, I really liked it. (I didn't even notice the corny parts until I saw it the second time . . . hmmm) Chocolat was good! (Johnny . . . sigh). I think the Fifth Element was great too (I must sound like a stalker), Chris Tucker is awesome . . . yes, and I just recently say Cutthroat Island which I thought, aside from the corny 'Dog' jokes was really well done. Geena Davis was great. But one quick question, at the end when the ship blows up and she says something about the treasure being on the other side of the barrel . . . what exactly does she mean? (I apoligize, I'm slow when it comes to movies. ) Just thought I'd clear that up if and when I had the chance. Thanks and so long. PS. LOTR . . . oh yes, viggo rules my world
  8. hey ho! I want to know as much as I can about the Pirates in Paradise Festival because it sounds like something I'd be very interested in!!!! I assume its and annual thing, right? Does anyone know the general plane fare to get there from, lets say, anywhere in Canada? Would it tell you that on the website? Thanks so much, I'll be lookin' forward to yer replies. I hope all that is goin' has a terrific time! Hopefully I'll be able to attend it sometime in the future . . . I'll be savin' me loot for a long time!!! So long!
  9. The Goonies is great!!!!!! who here doesn't luv corey feldman???? wait . . . don't answer that.
  10. i know my favorite movies won't completely relate, but meh. my faves at this moment would indeed be 'Pirates of the Caribbean'! oh yes, 'Almost Famous' (so terrific!), i just recently saw 'Cutthroat Island' which wasn't bad . . . some bad jokes but it was good and I luv Matt Modine! '200 cigarettes' is awesome too! if you haven't seen it, set sail and go rent it! yeah, i'm not gonna list anymore, it'll take all evein'! G'day!
  11. me apoligies if you already answered this here question but does anyone know when it will be released on DVD? (particularly in Canada if anyone knows) Thanks a lot!
  12. hah! meself, I got about 72% on the quiz, shows how much I know! However, I'm not used to payin' such attention to any movie, no matter how terrific it is! I best start doin' that! good luck to the rest of yas!
  13. hello again just replying to Lucky Penny, I (once again) realize that this is not a chat room, but so be it. I was just wondering if you could discuss farther your study of film and tell me where you studied it. Thanks!
  14. Ahoy there, First of all, there was quite a bit of information that I couldn't decifer in that movie, brilliant as it was. I loved it, too! The compass was one of them, and indeed, Commodore Norrington did fail to examine the compass as he should. I have a question . . . however, it would spoil the ending for the unfortunate mates who haven't yet seen it. I'll have to keep it to myself . . . or save it for later. anyways, I realize this prob'ly ain't the place for it (being that this ain't a chat room and all), but Iron Bess, if that be yer name, I can't quite recall, are you involved with film? I realize this question may not make sense but I was following yer conversations with the other pirates here and I couldn't help but notice that you discussed the (possibly) upcoming sequel with significant knowledge. I just wondered. Thanks very much. PS Lucky Penny Hawkings, yer a true genius!!!!! Yer conclusions about the plot cleared my mind of all doubts!!!
  15. that sing is a personal favorite of mine. its sung by either the Arrogant Worms or Captain Tractor . . . or Hoja . . . they're a locally famous acapella group. Being A Pirate by Don Freed is also a good song!
