  12. So... recently... or these past couple years, I've been called "Cute" when I'm dressed up as a pirate. I don't think Pirates are cute, but people seems to think I'm cute as a pirate. HA! Oh, what a riot. What do you think? Are Pirates cute? Can Pirates be cute? If a Pirate is called cute, are they really a Pirate? Offer yer 2 doubloons, me hearts! 🏴‍☠️
  13. I understand that Mad Davy Flint passed away back in November. No doubt he'll be sorely missed. 😔🏴‍☠️

  17. Stynky gets they Pirate Plunder Award of the Year for the big score of wool fabric! 😆🏴‍☠️😉👍 Seriously though, that screams major awesome project!
  18. These are all so awesome!! Kudos to you all? Can't wait to see the finished product, TSmith! 😉 Stynky... love the mattress pad. Good luck with the cot. Hope you find a comfy one. Military surplus stores used to have canvas and wooden cots. I had one for several years until it broke. Holds up rather well really. Did anyone ever make like a portable 17th/18th c daybed for events? Does anyone use a hammock?
  19. Amazing place for sure. I'm whimpering wishing I could attend. 🏴‍☠️
  20. Sorry for the double posting here but... I TRIED to play my viola and my niece's violin like a cello, and... well.... epic fail! Not so much the placement of fingers, but the string and bow movement and placement. If you had a shorter bow, it might work. The lower cord strings are tilted that makes it difficult to play. Possible with LOTS and LOTS of practice, I guess. Good luck! Otherwise, a Viola Da Gamba might be a lot of fun to play with the extra cords as a mini-cello.
  21. I think that's a Viola da Gamba. It's very much played like a Cello, and has more strings than a Violin, Viola, or Cello. Nice find! 😉👍🏴‍☠️
  22. Viola is a lovely sound. Anyone have links to the sheet music to the songs they play? If it's in typical Treble clef, that's fine. I can easily convert to Alto clef. I can certainly play "Blow the man down" and "Drunken Sailor" on viola, as well as "British Grenadiers". That's awesome ye mentioned "Au Claire de la Lune", Mr Bagley. I think I have that somewhere and shall have to learn that one, too. I've a viola and was learning to play that. I had a cheap plastic fife once and always dream of that gorgeous rosewood fife. I suppose a fife could have been an instrument that was possibly played, too, aye? 🏴‍☠️🎻
