  1. Moi aussi. (PM to follow after this post)
  2. Nice. Happy to see those are still produced, and there is still enough demand for them.
  3. Many (most?) of them landed on Facebook (links can be found on the Pyracy pub Facebook page). I think there was going to be an effort to get them posted here as well (?). I think a few have already landed here, but it is a rather small amount compared to what has been posted on Facebook.
  4. I have that fire striker's twin... and a few other things I use regularly made by Bo to keep his memory alive. In fact a small chest he made for me as a part of the Xmas exchanges you organized traveled with me to and from the Pub's 20th anniversary event at Fort Gaines.
  5. This is from around 5PM (EST) yesterday... this morning I'm already at the northernmost extremes of Alabama
  6. The last "test" setup in the back yard before packing it all up and leaving Tuesday evening. My tent with hammock (now with spreaders) to the right, and the loaner tent to be gifted on the left.
  7. Do you need a loaner tent? I still have at least one of the loaners remaining from the years of running the camp at Put-in-Bay. (And yes poles are included, although I'd need to verify I can fit those in the car)
  8. If Clint and Billy (and others) can make it work, and usually with pine (or other softwood) poles, I figure I can do it with hardwood and sturdy steel pipe joiners. My biggest worry was the hooks being sturdy enough, well and the hammock clews being too long. I still need to shorten the clews another inch or two for optimization... but everything else is great.
  9. Proof of concept tested successfully. Added some forged heavy duty hooks to the uprights for me wedge tent. Both the uprights and ridge pole are segmented (hard) wood with steel sheathing. I can transport this setup in my Honda (sedan) and sleep in a hammock, by pretty much just adding two short guylines to the front and back of my tent. M'A D'dogge and Billy deserve a lot of credit for being the source (to me) for this idea.
  10. Awesome... im less concerned about the landscaping than I am trying to drive stakes through coral (or other rocky substrates). But thank you for checking and for the good news!
  11. I know this might be a weird question... but those that remember Fort Zach Taylor well will understand: How is the soil at Fort Gaines? Im debating whether to bring my regular (10"-12") tent stakes, or whether i should plan to bring the "try and stop me soil" heavy duty 18"ers
  12. LOL.... Naw, this shift is definitely my work and has never been worn. It just baffles me that either: A] I made it for someone as a gift and forgot who or B] Made it for my wife and was that way-off on sizing. (I mean we all make mistakes, but when I mess up, it is usually a little too snug, or a bit too big.... this "mistake" if that is what it is, just falls outside of my margin of error)
  13. I was going through things, and I found a 99% completed shift/smock (women's undergarment). I'm having trouble understanding the find, as it is pretty small, so does not seem like something I was making for wife and made too small (I own to missing the mark on sizing rarely, but this one is way off)... but I don't have any memory of undertaking the project for anyone else. I'll be finishing the last couple of inches of seaming over the next day or two, and will bring it with me for the auction. It should fit a thin woman of average height (or a bit shorter) in the size 0 to size 4 range, and is more of a 18th century design than late 17th c. 100% linen (except the drawstring which I think is cotton, but could be replaced if the potential buyer is that specific in their needs). I might have some other items... but for now, this will be the Bagley's fairly "on-brand" (but slightly off-brand) contribution.
  14. Dude, so sorry you have to cancel. Get better. It was still great hanging out and going on the ride... we will have to do it again as soon as you heal so I can return your gear.
  15. If I brought the makings of French Canadian pea soup, would anyone be interested in it? It looks like something scraped out of a baby's diaper, but it is really good. Also, it is most appropriate for the French context that the site has for the GAoP. I can adjust quantities up or down prety easily, although my default batch sizes are small (enough for 4 people who have bread or other accompanyments), or large (enough to feed 12-15 hungry people who also have bread or other accompanyments)
  16. 1. Ask Stynky what he did with Mission's mug. 2. Ask Mission what Stynky was doing with his mug. 3. Sit back and laugh as hilarity ensues. Steps one and two are interchangeable.
  17. As a northerner (born even more northerly than my current home in Ohio) I first glanced at TudorSmith's post above and saw the 5 and 6 degree items listed above, and got excited (I'm a weirdo that lvoes cool/cold-weather events).... Of course reality sunk in when I actually lowed down and really read the post, and that the temperature swings were typicaly only those 5 to 6 degrees.... and most of the weather will be in the mid-70s to high-80s.... I can live with that (as long as there are no hurricanes/tropical storms that weekend)
  18. My musical inclinations... Are more ambitious than I have time to live up to. I do play, and take weekly lessons on violin (fiddle). I have a mandolin and mandola, I can strum some basic chords on the mandolin, and mostly use it to help with my musicianship on violin (the two instruments have the same scale/range/string, except mandolins have double courses). I also have a 12-string and 6-string ekectric guitar... although I am likely weakest on these two instruments of all the ones I have.
  19. Uhm, don't know how I turned strike-through on my previous post, and could't figure out how to remove it in an edit... so appologies for that. Hopefully it can still be read
  20. I'll likely join in for breakfast, specially if coffee is a part of the deal. Lunch[es] as well.... but suppers, there is where I might wander off to a restaurant etc. I'm not firmly decided on anything yet (except that I am attending), but thought I would pipe up to give the planners an idea on where my mind is. I know planning can be more difficult with undecided folks, but I thought I would at least try and be undecided and moderately communicative.
  21. I'm within the 8(ish) hour drive range.... and honestly, having a uniform of the English Solider, and all related kit for the era, I'd probably be more appropriate for the event than pirates portraying "not-pirates" would.... But I'm trying to narrow the scope of Facebook groups I am in rather than add additional ones. Is there a way to get the cliff-notes details without alll of the "blahditty-blah" of joining yet another chat group?
