  1. I, too, would very much like to join the likes of ye. Please email elaine@rhymeswithinsane.com me with any get togethery information you may have. Thanks!
  2. Wow! The movie was great! We had 60 people in our group dressed up as pirates (I'm sorry if I didn't get pictures of everyone). The El Capitan had re-done the whole theatre complete with props, costumes, and sets. It was beautiful! The worst part was even though the theatre asked us to organize this pirate party (for press purposes) but then not having us be out front or letting us sit next to each other. ABC news- (owned by Disney) ended up filming a chick in a bikini with "I (Heart) Orlando Bloom" written on her chest and ignored our massive crew. But I digress, here's some links of our cursed excursion: PoTC- pics - courtesy of Gene Biondo PoTC -pics - courtesy of Jonathan Rielly
  3. Avast thee that live in or near Los Angeles, CA. We're going on a large group outing dressed as pirates to the 8pm showing of Pirates of the Carribean at the El Capitan in Hollywood, CA on Wednesday July 9th. With a group discount, tickets are $7 each. If any one is interested in joining us, please email me elainiac@hotmail.com with the name and number of tickets you would like. The following is the email that went out to our piratey group of friends today: Please reply before THIS Wednesday June 25th at midnight. Elainiac the Mad (Elaine rhymes with Insane) is taking the helm on ARRRRR cursed excursion to the El Capitan on Wednesday, July 9th for opening night of Pirates of the Caribean :The Curse of the Black Pearl movie. http://pirates.movies.go.com The showtime is 8:00pm but AYE suggest ye be there no later than 7:30pm. You may want to bring some extra cash for parking as I know not of free spots in that area. El Capitan 6838 Hollywood Blvd (near Highland) Los Angeles, CA They WANT us to dress piratey (can you believe it!) but an eye patch and bandana is good enough if that's all you have. (Knowing this group, I would be shocked if anyone ever did the bare minimum costume-wise.) Also, please NO weapons unless they are and look plastic -as in no way anybody could mistake said prop for a real weapon what-so-ever. Elaine reserved tickets (and will be pre-buying for the discount) so she needs an accurate head count. Names would be appreciated too. Please email her elainiac@hotmail.com with your name and how many tickets you would like. ex: Lonely McSolo -1, Miss Uber Popular- 28 tickets total, Friend Smith and guest (2 tickets) The price is $7.00 each person, which you can give directly to Elaine that evening. We look forward to catching scurvy with the likes and dis-likes of ye.
  4. Just a quick note on the pirate-less SoCal Ren Faire. According to the actual reasoning: The age of piracy is about a hundred years after Queen Elizabeth held the throne. It's hard to remain in "period" when there's a such a big span of years. I think the actual reason is that they moved the Faire site away from the lake, (the old boats are dry docked back stage still) no ships = no sea dogs.
