Hey there, The other ship we'll be sailing on is The Spirit, a 73 ft schooner. You can see a picture of her at: The Spirit We'll be boarding her for a 2 hour whale and bird watching cruise from Ingonish Beach, NS. I AM SO EXCITED. Did I mention how excited I was? Now I'm going to research the history of pyracy in the Maritimes. Something fascinating I discovered while doing my genealogy and that is I have Huguenot French ancestors. Many renowned pyrates were Huguenot. I wonder if my Huguenot ancestors were among them? Could explain a lot of things, hmmmm!?

Actually...I'll be seeing Tanglefoot at the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival while I'm there, and staying at the Ovens campground, owned by the widow of HArry Chapin, for a few nights! So far the plan is to stay in Quebec City a couple of nights for the New France Festival, stay a night in New Brunswick, at a provincial park just outside of Fredericton, near King's Landing, a few night in Lunenburg, a few in PEI National PArk, and a couple in Cape Breton to go whale watching on a 73 foot schooner!!! And visit Fortress Louisbourg, and we have reservations to sail on the Bluenose!!! Here's a random thought. Would a sailor ever have worn leather while sailing? Once it's wet, it doesn't dry quickly. I am so excited about this trip. I want to see old lighthouses, and go to a ceileidh and a lobster supper, and so on. I figure if my sweetie and I can endure and enjoy two weeks of car camping together, then this relationship just might survive. LOL!

Hey there maties!!! It's been a while since I've been in port. I'm car camping with me first mate, 6000+ km from central Ontario to Cape Breton and back. Anyone been and have any travel tips? What to see and do, especially what NOT to miss etc?

Definitely "Shakespeare in Love" and "Stage Beauty" which is still in theatres.... "13th warrior" is good but the book is better.

Well, it's not about pirates but it's very interesting. It's called "God's secretaries" and it's about the making of the King James Bible. Author isAdam Nicolson. ANd another along the same theme is "William Tyndale: If God spare my life" fascinating look at a time when the RC church controlled what you read. I find it astounding that they would ban the reading of the bible!? Interesting times indeed.

I am a glorious and robust 39!! Never felt better in all my life! Survived a bout with cancer, the birth of three magnificent children and am currenlty going through the hell of a marriage breakdown, but I can't really complain. God has been good to me and I am greatful!! But then this is one of my good days, my comments would have been considerably different if I had written this a couple of days ago....but let's not go there.

I've just started "Pyrates" by George MacDonald Fraser. It's fiction and not new, c1983. ANyone read it? It's hilarious!!

The one for sale at that site is vinyl, but if I get one made I want it in black LEATHER...........leather good, vinyl BAD! But black leather and a natural linen shirt? Or maybe a maroon coloured leather? Or an orange silk shirt with the black leather bodice? Vinyl is hardly 16th century.........

Here's the bodice I'd almost kill for and there's the pattern for it at this site too!! Dark Leather I'm sewing up my pirate shirt this weekend, haven't bought the fabric yet, can't decide whether to go a natural coloured fine linen, or a bright orange silk. I have these bagging pants, black with a thin white pinstrip, doc marten boots, gold hoop earings, black head scarf, Thought I'd also add a sash in a bright colour, might clash with the orange silk shirt though......or just a wide leather belt.... What do you think?

Maybe that's why she slept with all the willing men in the town? Except for the young boys father, the one that called her a whore. I think he tried but couldn't get it up so he blamed her for his inability and called her a whore. Pig. Does she have red hair? You've mentioned she has blue eyes. What kind of relationship did she have with her father? Did she even have a father? What do her clothes look like, does she have anybody armour? What about a horse? Or does she walk? Is she a vegan? Phil, me luv, you must post the picture you taken!!! I'd love to see you in yer getup! And you've gotta teach me some o' yer fightin' moves! My own moves are pretty effective, though they're more, um..subtle, yeah, that's the word for them! You could teach me how to manipulate a sword, maybe the 'touch o' death' You oughtta come up here for the Ontario Renfest, it's the only one I've ever been to, and gets better every year. It runs on weekends throughout July and August, I love the performer 'Zoltan the Adequate' he does tricks and stuff. And the guys that do a funny skit in a mud pit, hilarious!!! I'm putting my costume together as we speak. I haven't decided on the style of bodice yet. I'd really like a black leather one, like the gypsy girl in the recent 'Van Helsing' movie. Very hot!!
