  1. Presented by Historic Hudson Valley... Historic Phillipsburg Manor will be taken over by a crew of blackbeards and beauties, providing a day of fun for the whole family! Featuring the Crimson Pirates, The Brigands and Captain Henry Martin as well as mermaids, pickpockets, ne'r-do-wells; fine food and drink; and much more! Visit www.hudsonvalley.org for more info!
  2. Recording anything for CD's or other distribution purposes is an entirely different kettle of fish. A little googling usually can help you find whoever holds the copyright and then you can usually write for a recording and mechanical (duplication) license from the copyright holder. Long story short--- use your judgement and don't worry too, too much if you want to sing a copyrighted song at a live event. If you want to be MORE careful, I'd probably say a good rule of thumb would be- if more than 100 people are watching, the event/show is too big to perform something you may think infringes on someone else's copyright. Otherwise, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. My completely non-law-school, probably illegal, but also somewhat sensible advice. This is not professional legal consultation, just a fellow performer sharing his own experiences. :)
  3. Ahoy there mates!! Yet another preview of Henry Martin: Around the Bay! This time it's one of my first favorite "pirate" tunes... New York Girls. We opted for the less popular version, detailing the robbery of a sailor when he goes to bed with a "New York Girl" and features the chorus: "All you New York Girls, you love us for our money!" The CD is available now at: www.piratesinc.com ! Cheers, mates! Chris Henry Martin
  4. Those are pretty damn awesome... I'd done pirate zombies before and put the real thing on folks, but these are probably much more...er... user friendly!! -C
  5. Not so much for coloring, but if you want "wear and tear" a good ol' fashioned box grater works really well. Made a lot of pirate zombies with one... ha. Cheers, Chris
  6. According to www.contemplator.com, here are some of my favorite tunes and the approximate times they first appeared: The Golden Vanity - 1685 Farewell and Adieu (All ye dear Spanish Ladies) - No approximate date for the song, but first mentioned in the log of The Nellie in 1796. The Mermaid - Mid 1700's Miss Bailey's Ghost - Credited by George Colman the elder (1732-1794) (Burl Ive's claims the song goes back to the 16th Century) The Bay of Biscay-O! - Based on a tune circa 1660 And, because I'm a whore (but, aren't we all?) the last of these three are on my new CD, Henry Martin: Around the Bay... here's a clip of The Bay of Biscay-O!

  8. Avast there mates!! I'm in the process of redesigning my website and part of which is putting up clips/songs on YouTube from my albums. Here's one of my favorite tracks from my newest CD, "Henry Martin: Around the Bay" and one I'm sure you're all familiar with, "The Bonnie Ship the Diamond"! There's a good chance I'll be posting some other tunes on this forum as well in the future, so stay tuned! Cheers, Christopher Captain Henry Martin PS-- Henry Martin's Stoli Legend: Long ago, on a tropical island off the coast of Rio, all the pirates of the world gathered for their annual holiday bash... However, one pirate didn't want to go for he was always made fun of. Why? Because he didn't like rum. On the night of the party, a hurricane swept across the Caribbean, sinking the cargo of rum the pirates ordered for their soiree! It seemed all hope was lost- until a ship reeled out of the storm. On the deck was none other than the pirate who didn't drink rum- Henry Martin! “Never fear!" he cried, "For I have sailed the world and returned with the finest of spirits to help us celebrate!" Henry’s crew began unloading mysterious crates emblazoned with Russian. When the pirates opened them, their eyes dazzled with delight! All 16 varieties of Stoli! The bottles were opened, the drinks were poured, and the pirates were merry! The day had been saved by Henry Martin and Stoli and no one ever made fun of the vodka-loving pirate again!
