About Me

THE CARACTER
I was Born in England in 1643, durin' the reign o' Charlie I. But with that Damned Cromwell winnin' the revolution, me family fled to France in 1649. I grew up there, learnin' French Customs o' honor, and loving and fashion. In France, I became a Highwayman to sustain me lifestyle, I donned a red doublet, and became known as 'Jaques la Rouge' for the suspected me o' bein' an Englishman, I became famous and adored by the lassies at the French court for secretly returning stolen jewelry with sentimental value, I suppose I've always had a soft spot for bonny lasses... In 1660 I returned to England, only to be Caught by a rival Family and sold into slavery.

After 2 long years I escaped and tried buyin' passage to England, only to be taken by Buccaneers off Tortuga, me choice was simple, join or die. I chose a life o' pyracy mercantile trading of other people's possessions. and set out. Three months later, our Cap's was killed, and I was elected in his place to our brig 'La Pheonix'. Me first objective was to command a ship of force, I failed in me first attempt. The experience o' imprisonment at the hands o' the cursed Inquisition left a mark on me. I have ne'er since shown quarter to a Spanish Inquisitor, or soldier. but I took the galleon at my escape and earned the nickname 'El Senor Rojo' The Red Gentleman in the Process. I renamed the galleon, 'Newe Moone' for a night as dark as the men who conceal their sins beneath a moonless sky.For a year I commanded her, till 1664 when the Governor of La Tortuga made a bargain with me to rid him o' a political rival commanding what i would call 'A ship of Nobleman's vanity' I HAD to have her. and the Third Rate ship o' the line became my flagship, The 'Sea Reaper' And I'd sail her all about the World.

The years 1662-1677 saw me in the Caribbee with the other buccaneers. And from 1677-1689 (me retirement) I was sailin' the Pyrate Round. In 1668 and 1669 I found meself in the Medaterin' at first an enemy, then an Ally o' the Barbary Corsairs. I was in the south China Seas as well from 1686-1687. i was Present at the Sack of Maracaibo, and Portobello with that damned turncoat Morgan, who was a rival of mine, and Vera Cruz with De Grammont an' de Graaff. I also participated in the Coup de Gra for the age o' buccaneers, sacking Cartagena. After that I retired to me plantations on Tortuga and King's Hallow, an isle given as dowry When i wed the girl I'd left in London, the illigitamate daughter o' the King, no less! Charlotte Stuart Countess of Sherwood. I had many lovers, and even more illegitamate children meself, but unfortunately i be a bit o' a romantic, and would maroon all the rest o' 'em for true love. I was a guest at the court of Three soverigns, Charlie II, but i returned to Pyracy, after entertainin' the court and collectin' a few titles. then after me retirement I was invited to England by Billy III to aid putting down Jacobites. I eventually left for the court o' me youth, that glorious realm of the Sun King, Louis XIV.

SHIP:
the Sea Reaper is a Massive third rate ship o' the line taken from the french. she was built to suit a nobleman's vanity, and her Grand elegance, and lethality suit me pride to the exteme. i belive a captain should cammand a ship that suits his personality, it should be an extension o' himself, and exude his presence long afore he boards thee, and the Sea Reaper does just That! She is big, grand, decorated with gilded carvings, but able to turn into a terrable Leviathan in an instant. she be painted black, with red sails, and red uperworks. She has balconies wraped around quarter galleries, towers, and all them an' the rest o' the ship be decorated with images o' death and the sea and like mythology. \Her figurehaed being a cloaked grim reaper mermaid with a trident, with two syrens about the Sea Reaper's tails, holdin' cutlasses and sharing a chalace. She has blades on the end o' her yards for slicing rigging, 6 morters, and a long tom, to bring fast moving ships to a halt, four masts, and stiched upon the sails, painted on the hull, be the names o' dieties for protection, luck and strength.

THE MAN BENEATH THE PATCH AND SCARLET COAT
I have been obssessed with pirates pretty much all my life, or at least from a very early age. I always enjoyed putting on a pirate costume and prancing around waving plastic pistols and cutlasses at people, treatening to make 'em "walk the plank" or something like that, I am also in the process of writing novels. As I got older, my love of costumery and playing 'dress up' turned into an abiltiy to act, and I have worked at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire on cast the past 4 years., taking the summer of 2010 off to go in as Commodore Greyhound. I was even able to play a pirate in summer 07, I portrayed Mr. Smee in a Peter Pan show they put on in the children's area. I am also an avide collecter of LEGO Pirate sets, and my collection is quite extensive and includes 5 ships, and sevral islands, including the Imperial Trading Post.. I am in the process of building a large LEGO pirate flagship

I am also the Co-Founder of the Devil's Brood Pyrates a guild of pirate crews founded with Blackjack Brimstone, whom I met at the Hampton Blackbeard Fest in 2010. We are beginning to recruit members and already have shipmates in Ohio, and Virginia, we've set down basic Guidelines for the the entirety of the guild to fallow, in addition to each crew having their own. We aren't very far along yet, however Blackjack is working on the roster and with his contacts to secure some jewelry and other items to serve as identifiers for officers and members of the organization, I'm working on some of the customs, and designs, I have already designed a Jolly Roger and Coat of arms for the Devil's Brood. I have since left my Commodore's position of Ohio to Captain 'Maddog' McRea, as I have taken on the task of starting The Roving Fleet, a devision of the group made up of venders, stage acts, and crews that travel.
