Saturday's third annual Marcus Hook Pirate Festival was a success thanks to the crews of the Archangel, Vahalla, Sons Of The Waves, The Plank House Crew, Vigilant Crew, Skullduggery Crew and Monti & Lucretia from Ye Pyrate Brotherhood. We also enjoyed great Pirate Music by the Brigands and Pirates For Sail. Even though the weather was cloudy and cool we all had a great time. There were some outstanding displays at the encampment and skits by Vahalla's crew. We also engaged cannon fire with the Kalmar Nyckel sailing down the Delaware river. The food venders offered up some tasty snacks and even the Chick-Fil-A Cow was getting into the spirit of the days events. I started sailing on a little 11 foot Snark sailboat at the age of 15 and then moved up to Hobie 16' Catamarans. I've also sailed a 26' foot MacGregor and a 30' Called the Red Baron in the Chesapeake. Nothing better than having a Hobie 16 up on one pontoon with the cables vibrating on a broad reach!

You could try lashing together some bamboo poles together into a X shape with the bottom of the X wider and then attach some lines which could be staked into the ground or if sand bury a large rock with anchoring lines attached to hold your support up with your hammock suspended between.
