I just read about the Star Clipper (I think that was the name of the company) tours of Thailand in 'Islands' magazine. Looks beautiful there.

This is the hem of the cuff. I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do. I might put two buttons on the outside, kind of like cuff-links, which would hold it together and i wouldn't have to do any hand-stitching, OR I could hand stitch the raw edge.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010

The cuffs are not yet done. This is the inside of the sleeve where the cuff and sleeve are attached. This will have to be hand-stitched.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010

Again, sorry about the lame photo. My camera was dying. I measured out 3 four inch lines along the top of the cuff. For the trim I am using you have to go over it twice with a straight stitch, once on both sides of the velvet, and then you also need to stitch along the end or the velvet will pull right out. Once I got the trim cut and sewn into place, I used these basic old brass looking buttons to add just a hint of detail. The buttons also hold the cuff in place. I plan on doing a similar sort of thing down the front of the coat.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010

I had some camera problems earlier today which is why you're seeing things already done. My sleeve cuffs, which you could see in #33, were sewn along the long edges and then folded back, upon itself as you can see here. The protruding end, seen in #33, was inserted into the sleeve, pinned down, and sewn with a straight stitch. Once the cuff was attached to the sleeve I made sure both sides had the same length cuff. I folded the extra inside and hemmed the edge. Using a brown 5/8" velvet and poly-blend trim, I trimmed around the outer edge of each cuff.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010

Sorry about the blurry photo. I sewed my sleeves together and then attached them to the body of the coat. I reinforced the seams and then got to work on the cuff.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010

Is skin firming moisturizer just a sales pitch or does it really work? Curious and not very piratey at the moment.

What?! Never heard of Adam Ant?! Adam was one of the major punk movement players - back when it was Adam and the Ants, then due to fights amongst band members it was switched to Adam Ant. Check these out. You might have heard or seen them, but just never realized who it was. Stand and Deliver

I just got home from the gym. I just added an extra 10 minutes to my cardio and I had an easier time with my 150 sit-ups. :) Now I'm sucking down a protein drink and I'm getting ready to make some food.

I decided to change the shape of this when I had to adjust it to fit the new sleeve size. I have the large straight side on a fold - very important. See the smaller rectangular shape? That will be fit in the sleeve. I have to cut 4 of these.© © Pyracy.com 2002 - 2010
