  5. Hope this works, posting a pic is such a chore on this site;
  6. Hard times befallin' me of late, trying to work up some scratch for the bills... must part with two flintlock pistols. One is the Loyalist/Middlesex Village Highland Murdock, all steel with the flaring barrel end. The other is a 60/70's Jap 'Tower' pistol, which actually looks more like a copy of a Ketland if you ask me. Neither have been live fired with ball, only reenactor loads. Both in good shape and fire well. Any way, both pistols are $200 each, shipping included. I can only take money orders and will ship the day I receive payment. You can buy one, or both, up to you. Here's hoping some of you may be interested, and these pistols find a good home. Highlander (David)
  7. Sorry, this was the only one I had, and they are a bit rare. I have seen them on various on-line auctions (do a Google search for 'Japanese Tower Pistol' and you'll run across them).
  8. We have a winner, someone has contacted me (from this Forum) and is sending their MO today. I know they will enjoy this 'classic' pistol.
  9. A quick shot, I'll get more/better tonight.
  10. Sir, I shall endeavor to answer your queries; I've not had it long, just a few months. I've fired blanks, double load, held in a vise stand. I've not fired ball, although the fellow I bought it from said he used it quite a lot firing ball. I've read and heard the 'issues' with some of the 1960's Jap guns, but I believe I have one of the good ones. I will try and get some pics posted.
  11. Aye, QM James, thats be the man I'm going to!
  12. I currently have one of those Japanese flintlock pistols, same as this previous thread; http://pyracy.com/in...showtopic=13218 I am trying to get some funds together for a Murdoch pistol, so must sell this one. The pistol is one of the good ones, everything is solid, the frizzen sparks well, and the lock seems to have been tuned. Only issue is the metal ramrod is missing the bell-end, but since I was going to get a hickory one, I didn't really care. $200 and she's yours, shipping extra. I don't take PayPal, so a Money Order is best.
  13. They had this guy walked in with a Tower pistol, got all excited cause they thought it was authentic. The 'expert' had to tell him it was an India copy, like Loyalist or Middlesex sell. Outside the store the guy was pissed, thought he was gonna fling the pistol to the cement.
  14. About a week was all, I'm sure he can ship faster, if'n ya pays fer it. In any case, well worth the wait. Just have to get used to these white rocks, as opposed to the black ones I was using.
  15. Just recieved my dozen flints from Rich and man do they ever spark! Got a small one for my pistol and large ones for my Bess. Put one in, turned off the lights and such a spark!! I've used Tom Fuller black english flints for years, and while good, they tend to shatter or shard a lot. Rich's flints seem to be holding up very well so far. I'm going out in the field this summer for the true test, but feel very confidant these puppies will do the job. Thanks rich!
  16. I'm new here, but I work as a Technical Writer for Spirit Airlines, also play in a Classic Rock band on weekends.
  17. aye! have ye any experience with middlesexvillagetrading's British Dragoon quite pleasin' to me eye it is! Yes Sir, I owned one of those and the only problem I had was the Pan would not flip open when the flint struck the Hammer. Turns out it was the tang (or whatever it's called) under the Hammer. Ground a bit of that away, and worked a charm.
  18. Question, is there much inletting work if one were to use the QA lock you describe? Also, did the original trigger work with the QA lock? Thanks, Highlander
