  1. A ready willingness to exploit the wealth and/or possessions of others for personal gain. How's that? R. Noland
  2. Try the journey of Mary Bryant also. She and several other Botany Bay prisoners made a 4000 mile journey in a ships cutter. I have the 2005 film based on this event on DVD as well. R. Noland
  3. Love the first one, sat through the second one at the theater (in costume even) when it opened, haven't watched it since. Saw about ten minutes of the third one, that was enough for me. I will give #4 a shot, but have low expectations givien the second and third were so bad (IMO). R. Noland
  4. Ottoman Turks were fond of that kind of decoration as well, and the miquelet locks were found all around the Mediteranean, Middle-East, and north African coast too. Any clue as to the origin of the image? R. Noland
  5. A toss-up between Blackrobe, The Mission, and The Girl With The Pearl Earing. R. Noland
  6. What were we talking about? I forget. (We just finished our popcorn and movie here, sorry, no leftovers) R. Noland
  7. For temporary traction that serves well and is easily removed, duct tape is sold in a medium brown color. This is what I use when navigating slick terrain indoors. A patch under the heel and the ball of the foot is all that is necessary, and the medium brown color is practically invisible when "kicking-back" where the sole may be visible to others. Hope this simple trick is some benefit to you all. R. Noland
  8. Most definitely my Hasbro G.I. Joe figures and accessories from the 1960's and 70's. I still have much of it and my step-son talks me into getting them out occaisionally, but I won't let anyone else play with those veterans of many wars and spec-ops.
  9. Any chance at getting a "Dutch Masters" type from you sir? Been wanting one of those since the first time I saw them on grandad's cigar box. R. Noland.
  10. Aye Mr. oderlesseye, we shall all hang seperately if not together! (I'll bet some upstart English-born colonist will steal that line from me someday!) I must appologize for not being clear, in that while I am FROM dear old Eyre, I have not set foot on her soil for many a year. Allow me to say only that political climate would make it a health hazzard for me to do so. I now roam the world looking for a place to settle and fill the void of years adrift, and here in the colonies seems the place for that. Well then, well met my fyne friends. Have another round on my account as I continue to plunder the knowledge shared here. I shall remain a bit quiet until I have sorted out all I have gleaned thus far. R. Noland
  11. Me thanks to ye for the kind welcome, and drink up m'lads n lasses. Roaming the forums has me a bit overwhelmed with all o the fyne information. Good find here I say. Off to plunder some more information. yr. hbl svnt. R. Noland
  12. 'ello. A quiet one I be.

  13. is ready to set sail after glory and riches. (riches will do in case of a shortage of glory)

  14. Ahoy the pub; it shall be my honored priveledge to be counted as one of the crewe, should ye allow me to sign articles with ye. I am Richard Noland of the grande green island of Ire, at your service. Have a dram on my account if you've a mind to do so.
