The Bath Fest Committee is hard at work planning a 2024 family friendly event blending living history and art. Through living history step back in time to experience the time pirates called Bath home as once again pirates walk the streets of historic Bath. Arts and craft vendors will sell their original works along the streets of Historic Bath at Bonner’s Point and a student art show featuring the works of Bath Elementary School students will be on display. POSTPONED - Date to be announced It’s time to go back to school. Way back to “The School of the Sixteenth Century”. Once again the Historic Florida Militia has partnered with the Saint Augustine Historical Society to present this years “School” on the grounds of the Oldest House Museum Complex. (Located at 14 St. Francis Street. Old Town Trolley has a stop directly outside the museum.) See what life was like in the very beginning of our city. Our historic encampment begins on Friday February 16th. “Classes” will be held at this beautiful and serene property on Friday and Saturday Feb 16-17. Witness demonstrations of historic weapons, including the crossbow, the matchlock musket, pikes, and edged weapons. See the clothing, crafts, culinary techniques, and the military and religious practices of that time. New this year are courses on the women of the Menendez expedition and primitive fabric dyeing. A day of fun, games, singing, dancing and live music 2024 Sees a revival of the Withernsea International Pirate Festival Subsequent to the 10th Withernsea Pirate Festival Reunion it was decided to re-instate the Withernsea Pirate Crew and hold a Festival. The festival is to provide music, dance and games based on a pirate theme. Local organisations; such as Residents Association, Scouts, football team, craft groups etc. benefit from the event as we offer them the chance to take stalls and spaces on the show ground to show off their services and wares. These spaces will be offered on a no fee basis. An estimated crowd of around 5000 is expected. Those attending are mainly local residents (Withernsea has a population of just under 6,000 which increases to an excess of 14,000 during the summer holiday period).
