Curious Kass or even anyone else who wants to jump in on the idea... if any out there are curious about more sewing by hand and even emobroidery. I'm sure there are some folks out there who may be curious on how to do this. Refer books or other materials. I know when I started out with re-enacting... there was no one to show me or tell me. Nor did I have a sewing machine (as it was broken.. long story). So... the research paid off.. and a few books did, too! Kass.. I've question. Have you ever run into an issue when handsewing... where the seam is either too loose or too tight? No matter how good the stitch was?

Who says we can't get into Borders and Barnes & Noble? I just signed the ppwk and Ingram Periodicals will be distributing our own Pyrates Way to thousands of bookstores nationwide starting with our Winter issue! How GREAT is that? All I did was send them a copy of the first issue and they LOVED it! Thanx to everyone for helping us achieve this kind of initial success!

Does anyone know where I can get some more of this fabric? I bought some of it from a vendor at Gulf Wars earlier this year, and I would love to get some more, but I don't know the name of the vendor! All I have left is this one scrap! It's a satiny material, and it's reversible!

Ello Mates, Pirates always get lucky on saturday night and here be a chance to enjoy some fine pirate tunes at the same time. The Pirates of New Providence are having a CD release party at Pirate-n-Plunder in Whittier, CA. I've heard the band and have enjoyed their performances at quite few events around the Southern California area. Those of you who were able to attend Spring Ojai Renaissance PIRATE faire would have had to chance to hear this tight group perform. Alas I will not be able to attend this event as I have made other plans. Also, since I know the band, I'm hoping to plunder the CD before hand. For those who can, it is a fine opportunity to party like a …

Renaissance Magazine, one of the most repected magazines in the Renn circuit, is putting out a Pirate issue for July , on stands in mid-August. Now this mag, though not usualy dierectly of interest for us sea-farin folk, does do a good job in thier research and I find they can can add a bit o' knowledge on most topics ( I personally subscribe.. I loves the old ways). AND, the are doing an article about the best new Pirate bands, one from each geographical area. West coast, Texas, Florida, Mid-west and Eastern seaboard. I am proud that The Brigands were selected to prepresent the Eastern Seaboard! Ye can pick up your copy at Barnes and Noble and other fine book purv…

Hello All, I just want to stop in quickly and say I hope you all are fine. I have been caring for my Dad and have been unable to get to the site. But I did get a chance a few days ago to upload some new ClipClocks in a Wiccan/Goddess theme. There are a few new ones in the Celtic area as well. If you need to contact me, please use my email address in my Members Information. Thanks! Deanna www.clipclocks.com

I posted the following in a different thread a few days ago: I was sitting here with vanilla rum & coke in hand when the candle over my head* flickered to life. There's a whole bunch of creative people here who just might be able to render the above flag as a gif file, and, once a design is settled upon, there are others who might (for a fee, of course) be able to render the resulting flag in cloth. This one's a two-parter. One: I am soliciting volunteers to create a GIF of the flag described above. I'm not rich, so the winner of this part of the competition gets nothing but bragging rights. Since I use WebTV, I won't be able to right-click and save the winning d…

Hello all! I just wanted you to know that I've added a page of Supplies for all who dare to tackle the Art of Pysanky! Just go to my www.clipclocks.com site (browse through the clocks too, of course!) and find the link to my Pysanky right on the home page. I have kits, dyes, egg blowers and beeswax. What fun we could have designing Pirate Eggs! :)

Hi All, I'm not sure if anyone has any interest, but I've added a page to my www.clipclocks.com site that has some of the Pysanky (Ukrainian Eggs) that I created. I was "The Ukrainian Egg Lady" before I was the Time Keeper! I will be adding more, in the near future, that are displayed in my hand thrown pottery baskets, in shadow boxes and music boxes. But for now there are many to peek at on stands. The link to the Eggs is on my homepage near the bottom. Have fun looking!

I put this list together over in the Crafting your kit forum. We cant vouch for the suppliers, but many of them have been around for a while and at least there is a start for finding some proper kit. Some of it contains later 1700s era shoes and clothing, so you still have to dig a bit. Its pretty hard to find proper kit, but I'm adding more suppliers as we find them. Many suppliers have dropped off in the Covid and post Covid era. Linking to the Pyracy Forum thead here so we dont have to mantain the list in two places... LInk to Pyracy topic

Just finished the "Royale" nicknamed that after Pulp Fiction regarding a 1/4 pounder in Europe as a 1 inch lead ball is around a 1/4 pound. Solid bronze shaft was used for the barrel. The lock is Rifle Shoppe. The muzzle inscription roughly translated is "fire from an angry king" as was found on many period cannons. This would be good piece for a crew or for a ship.

“I’m in the market as it were” for a printable template from which I can build historical facsimile/replica of a quadrant. Specific year(s) not important (as long as it falls within the GAOP). I would be interested in both a maritime navigations quadrant and/or a artillerist’s quadrant. My own online searches have not been entirely fruitful. So I implore ye my brethren, does anyone know of any sites/links with high res scans and/or images that might serve as a template from which to reproduce a quadrant? Or does anyone have any scans, images, PDFs or other materials they might be willing to share?
