I just got the photos of my new bodice and shirt made by Becky Cristler. I liked 'em so much, I had to come show 'em off! These will be paired with black boots and black breeches. I told Becky I was getting cold out on the ship wearing a dress, so she made the bodice out of suede and lined it with a heavy cloth for warmth. There are also upper arm guantlets in matching black that are not shown in this photo. For anyone interested, Becky does beautiful, high quality work, custom tailored to your measurements at an excellent price. Her email is sunset_red7@yahoo.com Please tell her Claire of Tales of the Seven Seas sent you! My shirt and bodice combo was $50, but the …

I found a ship's doctor kit, complete with provenance dating it to the early/mid 1800s on eBay. It's too pricey for my collection and it's a little too far from GaOP, but it's still really neat. It gives a small insight into how ship's surgeon's kits were designed. Check it out here.

I have had this thread up for a while, and have sold a few things... In the spirit of the "new year" and resolutions, I want to move this stuff out of the fabric closet. I will do my best to describe the fabrics in detail. If it says "silk", its because i believe ti to be silk (using burn test, feel, etc) and that I bought it from a vendor who purported it to be 100% silk. If it aint' right, I'll tell you upfront, and I will even give you 5 days to decide upon receipt of fabric. I am not here to gyp anyone. First the Silks and Fake silks S1 $40 AVAILABLE Royal Blue Silk Its a darkish/purplish Royal Blue. Would make a nice waistcoat or early style Justaucorp…

I moved the non linen/hemp fabrics to another thread SILKS As Promised... Here is the fabric and notions and what not for sale. I will keep updating this list as things come and go.. I have yet to get to my wool boxes, trims, and half of the Linen. For those of you who went to PiP, there were some outstanding authentic pirates there... if you want to improve your game a bit, here is some fabric that will help put you over the top (and using Reconstructing History's patterns). I got too much stuff... period. Other fabric whores out there know what I am saying. My main problem is I am living in Germany (my wife is a Dodds teacher) and I just can't get to the events..…

SOLD - PENDING PAYMENT THANKS I have recently posted the Linens and Silks on another forum, and honestly, its moving much faster over there. But, to be fair to my Pirate Brethren, I still will offer the things for sale here First. I have a ton a stuff... really. And I have decided for 2009 that I would get rid of everything that can't fit into one small suitcase.... As traveling to events is difficult as I live in Europe. I had visions of Grandeur, and pictured myself setting up a "table" at PIP and selling antique fabrics, high quality weapons, and original items.... That ain't going to happen. So the end of 2008 and the first part of 2009 will have me setting …

SOLD all of it. Moving into the wools The English really liked wools. They were masters of its manufacture. While other countries royalty and upper classes would be found in the finest silks and other fabrics, wool found a place in every Englishman's (and English woman's) Wardrobe. From the King on down to the lowest of peasants, wool was the Fabric for England. First up is: W-A Grosgrain Wool 5.5 yds x 60" med weight Yards Grosgrain fabric has a ribbed appearance. It was very popular in centuries past. Some say that "Grog" gets its name from the Captain of a ship who invented it. He apparently wore a Grosgrain Coat, and was known as old "Grog". Can't co…

I have been going through my stuff... again and found a few pieces of linen that didn't make it out with the last batch. I'll post more as I find em L5 $75 Shipped This is a big piece of linen 7.7 Yrds 60" wide. It probably from the first quarter of the last century As far as weight goes, I would say its on the heavy side of "Light" or on the light side of Medium... so a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1-10. Some slight storage marks but it has been laundered. I'd use it to make a shirt, chemise (if you don't mind a heavier material) or for lining of just about anything. LCP Embroidered/Patterned Beige Cotton 4yds x 58" $30 I bought this a while back as the pattern was…

Antique 19th Century Navaja, A Spanish Folding Pocket Knife with Etched Blade Engraved Recuerdo and stamped with the makers mark of a sword and the name Riberon, 7.5 inches Folded 12.5 inches Open. The knife is in good solid condition with no loose parts however the very tip of the blade has been snapped off by a previous owner. I went to a local Antique Show this weekend and found some great pieces to make some One of a Kind ClipClocks. There are so many that I want to put up for you to see that I made a new page (Gallery 4) just for the One of a Kinds! I also have tweaked the site a bit and put the Favorite Advertisement of the Month on the homepage. You'll have to peek each month to see if someone you know has been captured and is a victim..... I mean subject of the Ad. Check it out at your convenience! Thanks for all the great word of mouth Advertising you do. May the New Year bring you Health, Happiness, Love and Prosperity. Deanna

I have a sterling silver poison ring and I'm having its adjustable band replaced with a permanent, fixed size band. The jeweler warned me that the antiquing on the face of the ring would likely become mottled or go away all together. Plus, the band will be like new as opposed to antiqued. So I'm inquiring if anyone here knows how to antique sterling silver. Is it as simple as applying a store-bought product or is there more to it? Is there anyone here who can educate me?

Hello all! I just wanted you to know that I've added a page of Supplies for all who dare to tackle the Art of Pysanky! Just go to my www.clipclocks.com site (browse through the clocks too, of course!) and find the link to my Pysanky right on the home page. I have kits, dyes, egg blowers and beeswax. What fun we could have designing Pirate Eggs! :)

Ahoy there to all. I'm looking for anyone who may have any information on how to make a sword baldric. I have some knowledge of leatherworking and would be interested in making a sword baldric to go with a cutlass I will be looking to get eventually. Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated.
