Picked up the film score today....I can't recommend it enough. It's outstanding! Just as fun to listen to as the movie is to watch, and just as adrenaline-inducing. So go out and pillage it, ye swabbies! :)

SWASHBUCKLE These guys are a lot harder than Alestorm but fun to watch indeed and if you are a pirate who likes crime, pillaging, boobs and killing preppy yat owners then you'll love these guys. [yt] [/yt]

Set your DVRs for May 8 at 8 pm as National Geographic tells the story of the rise and fall of the Wickedest City on Earth, including a 3-D recreation of the city at the time of Henry Morgan. Should be terrific, if the trailers are any indication. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/wicked-pirate-city-5545/Overview The previews are here: http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/wicked-pirate-city-5545/Overview#tab-Videos/10131_00 --

Ahoy! I am a Huge fan of board games. My favorite being Settlers of Catan. I own many copies of the game but they all have one major flaw; Durability. The tiles and cards are all made out of cardboard which tends to bend or warp over time. I am working on making a copy of the game out of sealed wood this way they are stronger and more resistant to water damage. I've decided that while I'm at it I'm going to tailor the game to my interests and make a Pirates of Catan. The issue I'm having is with the actual game pieces. In Settlers of Catan the players work with 2 types of pieces: Settlements and Cities. I'd like to do something along the lines of Ship and Hideou…

Ahoy, mates! Two weeks ago, a hardy group of pirate poets and artists set sail on a voyage of hope. In search of gold and glory, they published a book of poetry and artwork by and about pirates. This book, entitled Raising Black Flags, is currently on the market in a "Special Edition" format which will be replaced in about a week with a published format complete with International Standard Book Number, ready to be marketed at fine retailers around the world! If you want to take a gander at the book, go to Blackbead Books for a preview. The reason I'm posting this here is that we are already planning our next trip! We plan on putting out another book by Christmas of 2…

I've decided, with much gratitude to Patrick Hand, to start setting up a hopefully inexpensive workshop for making my steampunk equipment. Since I'll be just starting out with this for the most part, I thought I'd make a thread to discuss the tools and set up often used for these projects and perhaps projects that are similar. It's just forge discussion in general. So far, here is a list I have in no particular order of things to get and some things I already have. Propane Torch Dremel Grinder Propane Tank Drill Hammers Knives Carving tools Saw Anvil Workbench Some miscellaneous equipment for specific projects And red bull or coffee(caffeine fuels the imagination) Is…

so I played the beta for the MMO Piartes of the Burning Sea and the game releases soon. The game wasn't bad, my biggest complaint was well the half nekkid woman characters and the lack of accurate clothing- but the game play was fun and basically ate up 2 weeks of my life so I decided to purchase it. Is anyone else playing? My friends are disappointed I won't play WoW. I have been, against the whole MMO thing since well, I stopped MUDDING in the 90s. But let me know if anyone is playing on the pre-boarding servers, it'd be nice to have a crew around :) someone to attack the english with. if you aren't playing and don't know this- you can be english, spanish, fr…

Just came across this....well, actually I think it was just released: Air Steamship by DAZ - Free for a short time It's a CGI 3D model of an Air Steamship, not a "pirate" ship but can be modified to such. It can be used in a variety of 3D rendering programs, DAZ also has such a program for free called DAZ:Studio, not as full featured as others but getting fairly mature (still buggy IMO). If anyone here uses Poser, Vue, Carrara, Bryce, or other such programs then these 'models' will work in them (Poser & DAZ:Studio naively, the others with just a few tweaks) I have another, much more better one IMO, that I have been meaning to get rendered for you but just have no…

I'm going to shameless introduce my book, The Bryant Family Chronicles: Death and Gold in Zara Zote. The book has multiple storylines -- one in the present and one in 1715. It's not your typical pirates and a treasure hunt story. Its got lots of great reviews and is a 2011 winner in the Readers Favorite Awards. You can find out more at the website: www.deepseapublishing.com. I'm working on Book 2 and Book 3 now. I'm actively looking for material for these books. I look for Pirate legends and mysteries to weave into the storylines. This site looks like a good source for characters as well. I'm excited about this site find and look forward to going to some o…

Last week I got a Honda Silverwing 500 ..... I only have a bill of sale, and no pink slip, so I have to visit the DMV and make sure everything is cool before I start working on it..... (crossing fingers and holding my breath.... I'm fairly sure everything will be OK.....) But I'm going to Steampunk the snot outta it....... Make a new gas tank, find a tractor seat for it... change the rear finder, chop quite a lot of it off, and make it into something really interesting (and street legal ) This is what it looks like right now......

hi! im a newbie on this forum, but i absolutley adore pirates! as soon as i found this site i was immediately praising the pirate gods for guiding me to his most wonderful community! To get to the point, other than the great point i made about how great a forum this is, im looking for any advice i can get about putting on a pirate skit or writing a humourous, originl song about pirates! the reason i am doing this is because my school is holding a fun day and a competition where students can perform something in front of the rest of the school and they vote for the best act...myself and two of my male friends love pirates so much, that we want to share that love with the…
